Unleashed

With rage in his eyes now, the one who kneeled to mourn for his fallen friend got up and charged, ripping the knife from the dead boy's cold hands. He took a jab at my heart and just barely missed, scratching my shoulder instead of my chest. I decided to put up a fight for a bit, but apparently there's no such thing as fair fighting.

The buff man who tried to kill me attacked from the side with his knife, and I jumped back, which caused the other boy to jump forward to attack me.

A loud gasp was heard from the boy, and the large switchblade slowly slid out of his side. The large man seemed unnerved by this, and kept attacking. Though he had a smaller, more mobile weapon, I myself was smaller and more mobile.

I got behind the heartless fool and struck my weapon onto his back.

Another sufficient crack. I kept hitting that one spot until I heard pleas of mercy, and I stopped my blows. I walked over to his head, which faced the opposite direction of the petrified leader.

"I want my life back. I liked it better when no one knew who I was, when no one knew me or knew I existed, when I didn't have a goddamned label." I swung my bat down. Another loud whack mixed with the squish of flesh.

Blood splattered all over my jacket, and a bit on my face. I bent down and reached into my bag, grabbing my mask. The elastic snapped into place on the back of my head, and I adjusted the mask so I could see. When I was done adjusting, I slammed my bat down onto the neck of the impaled boy, a loud snap echoing through the silence.

The sound of footsteps got farther away as I looked up. The fearless leader ran, and I chased him. Not because I didn't want any witnesses, but so these people are no more. My adrenaline began fading, but no need for him to know that. He was almost to the doors of the school, and I was trailing close behind.

He slammed into the doors and yanked on the handles. Neither of the doors budged, and I slowed my pace to give myself a break. He stood there, terrified and speechless. I was only inches away from him now, and I stopped, looking into his horrified gaze.

"That person you tripped in the hallway and called a freak is no more," I mumbled. "There's always something that can come out of absolutely nothing. Haven't you ever heard of the butterfly effect?"

The screams of sinners echoed through those school grounds that day, and that student was nowhere to be found after the incident.

I suppose that you may have realized that I don't have a name in this memory.

I don't remember my name. The name disappeared like most of those girl's memories.

Oh, you thought I was a boy?

So did everyone else. They never bothered to find out which I was. And now I'm free, free to be any kind of person I want, be who I want.

Free to roam, to speak, to love, to die.

To kill.

Things will be different now, for you and I.
