He strolled in with his attitude clear: He didn't want to be here. That didn't matter to me, he was at least making an effort. "Alpha Jones, how nice of you to join us." Alpha said, his attempt of being sincere falling flat. His bitterness was clear.
"If you don't mind my asking, what is the situation I am needed for?" Zayden said. He must of sensed the Alphas vulnerable state and had a kinder tone. "There was a man, he tried throwing a bomb into our house. My daughter picked it up and ran, getting the pack out of danger. As she was running back, the bomb exploding, injuring my daughter a great deal. The pack doctor fears her mate is the only thing that can save her. " The alpha said, visibly shaken. His wife started sobbing again.
Zayden gave a sympathetic look to the Alpha and Luna. He sighed. "What do I have to do?" He said. The pack doctor answered. "All you must do is touch her. I'm sure you would be aware if you're mates from then on." She said and chuckled.

Zayden's POV
So the Alpha's daughter is hurt. Why did that mean I had to ruin MY fun time with .... with ... oh shit what was her name. Trisha I think?
For the first time I looked at the girl laying on the couch. I couldn't deny, she was goregous. Despite the cuts and bruises of course. Her dirty blonder hair layed on her shoulder in waves. She had a tan complexion and freckles scattered across her small nose.
I walked over to the couch and touched her arm. Warm tingles shot through my arm and alerted all of my senses. It was the best feeling, like I was asleep for a thousand years, and just by one touch, I am reawakened.
The Alpha gave me a hopeful look. I stepped back. I couldn't hve a mate, not yet. I'm supposed to be young, live my life! I am an Alpha, I am not supposed to be settled down yet, I'm supposed to have a different girl in bed every week.
I looked at the Alpha and shook my head. "She's not my mate." I said. What the hell do you think you are doing? My wolf said to me.
I'm not ready for a mate.
How can you deny our mate? I mean look at her, she is beautiful, but most importantly she is made for us. And she needs our help. He growled at me.
Someone else can help her. We will only cause her trouble anyways.
No, she needs us. Don't be a fool. Help her get better. She sacrificed her life for her pack, the least we can do for our mate.
I sat there arguing with my wolf. Everyone looked down disappointed. "Alpha, may I talk to you privately?" I asked him. He shook his head, and I followed him into the kitchen. "You needed to speak to me?" He said. You could tell he was worn.
"Yes Alpha. I needed to tell you, Your daughter is my mate." His face lit up. "Alpha, I will help your daughter back to help, but that is all. I am not ready for a mate, I think it would be best she didn't know she is my mate when she awakes. There is no offense to your pack, your family, or her. I believe it is in everybody's best interest. " I said. He looked at me, different emotions flashing through his eyes. First happy, then angry, and finally sad. He nodded his head. We walked back into the living room.
He told everyone about the situation and told them that it stays between us. You could tell no one ws happy about it, but didn't speak up.
"What do I need to do?" I said hoarsely to the pack doctor. "Well we need her wolf to recognize you. I recommend we take her to the infirmary, and I also recommend you are the one who takes her. She is too fragile to be handled by anyone else." She said sadly. "Alright." I said. I walked over to her and picked her up, bridal style. I followed the pack doctor into a hospital type room. It was similar to the rooms in our pack house, except this seemed more comfortable. It was a large room, a twin size bed with white sheets in one corner, a counter along one wall with medical supplies, and a small brown pull-out couch in front of the bed. A large window sat next to the bed.
