The Dread

The end of the same old song.

Know that I no longer care,

Empty like seats cold and bare.

I can feel it in my bones,

Another chapter ends.

Creaking from a broken hinge,

Deep into the lonely night.,

When the carrion take flight,

To feast at the graveyard ridge.

I have never felt more alone,

Safe and sound in my humble home.,

The dread keeps me awake.

Love seems like a stranger, so true

Even when I'm thinking of you.,

The dread keeps me awake.

Tired and sick of everything

Everyone and what not,

Please, just let me be.,

Either here or the grave.

I hear funeral bells,

Against skies that seem so pale.,

I am a victim of pain.

When there's nothing left to take,

Alone, useless in this Hell.,

I have never felt more alone,

Safe and sound in my humble home.

The dread keeps me awake...

Love seems like a stranger, so true

Even when I'm thinking of you.,

The dread keeps me awake.
