Patricia
The young girl with the purple eyes and very long white hair wandered down the dark alley, alone. She walked briskly back to Miss Maddie's Home for Girls hoping she would make it in time for the 9:00 curfew.
"It's dangerous to be out so late," a deep voice said from behind her.
She turned quickly on her heels and responded confidently,"That's what your mom said?"
Big mistake.
"Oh you little..."
It's was almost pitch black, but Patricia, the small girl, heard footsteps charging toward her, slapping the concrete. She was petrified. Not because Patricia was scared but because she sometimes got lost in thought at the worst times. Miss Maddie always scolded her and told her that one her big mouth would get her in trouble. This was definitely trouble. Out of time, she braced herself for the impact, then waited. The little girl cracked an eye. She opened both wide and saw a boy. He was older than she, but still pretty young, maybe fourteen? He wore a mask that covered his eyes and a cape that fluttered in the wind. His hair was raven black, but she could barely tell. She couldn't make out the other details in the thick darkness, but he soon broke the silence.
"Are you okay?"
Patricia broke out of her state,"Me? Dandy."
"Aren't you a little young to be out here by yourself?"
"I guess... welp, I'll be seein' ya around! Best be gettin' home," Patricia turned and skipped towards the Home.
"Wait!" He caught up with her and put a hand in her way. "I'm-"
"Yeah yeah. My mom says I'm not supposed to talk to strangers so..."
"Yeah, well your mom wouldn't like it if she found where you were at this time of night, so I'll escort you home."
"Whatever." The girl rolled her purple eyes, pushed past him and started walking again,"I could've taken that dude."
The boy laughed a little,"Yeah, I liked the way you 'handled' him by standing petrified and gawking."
"Hmfph. Who are you anyways?"
"Robin," he stepped over a crushed can. They were getting closer to the girl's "house."
Patricia stepped in front of him and looked up,"My house is right around the corner. I'm fine. Bye." She shooed him off. He relented after trying to explain about safety and failed. The girl turned the corner and eyed the Home warily. She jumped and caught a brick window sill about four feet up and did a sort of backflip to land on top of it. Patricia slowly and quietly opened the window trying not to wake Miss Maddie or anyone else.

Robin
After the girl shooed Robin off, he jumped to the nearest rooftop and watched her head home. She stopped in front of the Girl's Home and did something that surprised Robin. The young girl grabbed ahold of the window ledge and flipped onto it, her long hair flowed behind her in a perfect swoop. Then, she opened the window and slipped inside.
She lives at the orphanage? Hmmm... That really got Robin thinking as he jumped from roof to roof back to the mansion.

"Richard! Where have you been?" Bruce questioned,"I told you to be home by 6:30 for dinner."
"I was patrolling the city and got distracted..."
Bruce Wayne raised an eyebrow at Richard,"Distracted for five hours?"
"First day with extracurriculars..."
"Okay, that's about two hours excused," Bruce said expecting for another explanation.
"A lady was mugged by a man. Not a villain. Then there was a mild robbery."
"And the other two?"
"Patrol, like I said."
Bruce frowned,"There was something else." He stepped forward.
Should Richard tell him about the girl? He didn't know what to do and suddenly his uniform shoes were very interesting. (He changed back into his school uniform)
"Well there was this little girl, light blonde hair and purple eyes, walking through an alley... and was almost hurt by a man, again not a villain, so I saved her and made sure she got home safe," Richard looked up slowly and Bruce's expression hadn't changed.
"Anything else?"
"She- she lived in that Home for Girls about a mile away from here but there's more," Richard looked The Batman straight in the eye and said,"She flipped onto the fricken window sill about five feet up!"
Bruce just stared at him. Not blankly but kind of a glare to see if Richard was telling the truth. Bruce nodded tersely, turned toward his study, and walked away.

Richard woke up early the next morning. He dressed and packed his things for school, making sure that his dark hair looked okay, then headed downstairs into the kitchen.
"Good morning Master Richard."
"Morning Alfred. Where's Bruce?" He plopped his backpack on the ground beside the stool and sat at the counter facing Alfred.
"He has gone out on an errand. Don't worry, it's nothing really. But you need to get to school."
Richard grabbed an apple from the fridge and hurried out the door, wondering where Bruce was.

Bruce Wayne
It was late. Bruce sat in his study and thought about what Robin, Richard, had said earlier. A girl. That lives at an orphanage. That's probably about nine or ten. That can backflip into window sills... He didn't know what to think, but knew that was all the reason he needed to investigate. I mean, Robin wouldn't make a big deal out of nothing, would he?
Bruce woke up before the sun rose and started to warm the cold city of Gotham. He made sure to wear one of his nicest suits with a plain red tie and a briefcase, just for extra measures.

Bruce stepped up to the big green doors, precisely 8:00 AM, at Miss Maddie's home for girls and knocked firmly. The door opened to a semi-plump woman with short brown hair, a huge smile, but cold greenish-blue eyes. Pretty but not in a good way, necessarily. She wore a light pink skirt and a long sleeved light pink sweater turtleneck.
"Why hello there!" she did a bit of a double take,"Bruce Wayne?..." she cleared her throat,"You must be looking to adopt, no? Come in!" She said in a too cheery voice and gestured inside. Bruce walked in and everything was pink. Pretty much every shade of it you could imagine.
"So, is there a certain age in particular? A certain girl here?"
Bruce thought about what Richard had said about the girl. Bright purple eyes. Light hair?
"I believe she's about nine or ten, purple eyes and light hair?" Bruce looked at the woman.
She gulped,"Ummm... Are you sure?"
"Very, ma'am. Please, could I talk to her?"
"Yes," she plastered her fake smile back on and said sweetly into the intercom next to her desk,"Patricia, someone would like to see you downstairs."
After a few minutes of a very awkward silence, a girl, the one Richard described, came downstairs with her arms crossed.
"Yes Miss Maddie?" she replied innocently then saw Bruce.
"Hello, Patricia. Would you like to step outside for a chat?" Bruce said in his deep voice.
A/N: Wow, I'm so predictable... Don't worry I have many plot twists planned in my mind... :p Hope you enjoyed the first chapter!
