The stadium was packed. Thousands of coloured shirts screeched and cheered, even before the game had started. Ryan stood outside the block of changing rooms, he clutched his mascot helmet under one arm. It was shaped like the head of a large grey wildcat. He'd bought it off etsy. Ryan didn't feel much like cheering. His stomach lurched and his throat felt dry. He still hadn't seen Chad anywhere.
"Hey Ryan, ready to cheer?" an overenthusiastic voice sounded behind him, it was Mr Beedrill, a chemistry teacher. He must have driven to Oklahoma to see the game, because the other science teachers were there.
"Yeah, I guess" Ryan tied to smile.
"Well good luck. And don't forget to have fun!" Mr Beedrill  beamed, not seeming to be affected by Ryan's mournful fail at a smile and hurried away towards wherever Mr Chikorita and Mr turbine were; probably hiding from him.
Ryan began to pick at the fabric on his costume. The fur stuck to his skin as he sweat. It seemed even hotter than usual he felt that the suit had become a furry fabric prison. Ryan gasped for air as he stumbled into the toilets and splashed some water into his face, taking deep breaths.
