The phantom in the school

'I'm getting closer...' Determination was all you felt.

You picked your speed, running down the corridor. When you spotted the doors, you stood in the front of them, unsure if you should really open and witness what was happening. You knew if you did it can change your life forever. The explosions were extraordinary loud now. Slowly you pushed open the door and than stepped outside. The doors swinging shut behind you. You felt a large gust of wind swoosh by you. Your hair and skirt flew around frantically. Something large flew from one side to the other. You heard shouting behind all the noise. It was the guy in the black jersey.

"Why is there a student out here? I thought they had classes" he shouted over the irritating noise. You turned to see where the loud screeching sound came from. A giant catoblepas with a creepy large amount of eyes. They gurgle around the area as it scanned the everything in it's vision. The creature was letting out strange screeches. They seemed to pierce your ears. You bobbed down and covered your ears tightly. Attempting to block the noise.

The girl with the tail turned over to look at you. She could see your struggling face. The girl grabbed your hand and pulled you away.

"Keep down, just stay here for a little" the girl said. You peeked over her shoulder. You could see the tail move around just like a cats.

'Maybe this girl likes to cosplay...but that tail looks really realistic, maybe shes a pro"

You nodded and listened to her instructions.

"Hey...your eye", she said, "are you okay? did something happen?" You were about to reply but suddenly a big,white flash interrupted your conversation.You covered your eyes with your arms, shading your eyes from the light. When it began to die out you turned back to see what had happened.

The large creature was no longer there,

"Hiyori, lets go!" the man said as he waved his hand frantically. The twin Japanese katana changed into a human right before your eyes. The blonde boy you had saw yesterday appeared in its place. He stood next to the man in the black jersey.

"Wait, this girl", the girl named Hiyori shouted back. she held your hand and then gave you a small smile.

"Follow me for a bit", she said as she lead you.

"Yato", Hiyori said. She pointed to your eye. The man named Yato got closer to have a better look. You averted your eyes awkwardly and leaned away a little.

'Personal space, personal space please...'

"Hmm,that is a phantom but something is different about it",

"Who are you all?" you asked. That was the question which you've been wanting to ask since yesterday. The black haired man smiled brightly.

"I'm Yato the god, I'm sure you've heard of me before since I'm one of the most famous gods around", he bragged in a proud manner.

"Don't mind him, he's not exactly...a god", Hiyori added sweetly.

"Hiyori!~", Yato whined.

"Nato? that's a very, um unique name...", you replied (Nato is a type of japanese bean) A moment of silence sat between you all. Suddenly the boy behind started to laugh. He kept his covered and face turned away.

"It's Yato, Y-A-T-O" Yato shouted. The boy stopped and looked at you with the corners of his eyes. You gazed back at him. Those amber eyes just stood out too much.  A shade of red appeared on his cheeks. He looked down to the dirt floor. Yato's head shot back, he gave the boy a long glare.

"Anyways, I'm Iki Hiyori", Hiyori said with a smile. It was then when you noticed she was wore the same school uniform as you. She was from your school.

"Behind Yato is Yukine", Hiyori introduced. The blonde boy looked back up and gave you a small, shy smile.

"Anyways, we'll explain everything soon", Hiyori continued, " first off, what's your name?"

"(l/n)(f/n)" You said," nice to meet you all". Hiyori looked down at your uniform and then back up to your face.

"(y/n) are you a first year?" she questioned.

"Yes"

"I'm in second year", Hiyori said,"this would mean you are the same age as Yukine?"

"I'm fifteen this year", you replied. Yato placed his arm over his companion's neck and gave him a headlock.

"I hope you don't get over too close to (y/n) just because those hormones of yours", Yato said to him. Yukine struggled to get loose but it didn't work.

"I'm not exactly fifteen since I'm a regalia but whatever, can you just let me go! You stink so much!", The boy yelled while struggling to get loose from Yato's hard grip. Yato let go in shock. You could hear his fragile heart shattering.

"I thought you respected and loved me Yukine, how could you say such a thing", Yato cried.

"For someone who can't shelter me properly, uses all my money for stupid reasons and doesn't consider what kind of situation we are in, no I will never respect such a lowly person", he said as he brushed himself. Yato felt knives stab into him. He sniffed back some tears.

"Yukine...you don't even respect your master!" he whined

You covered your mouth to stop yourself from laughing. But in the end you broke down laughing.

'What the heck, is this suppose to be a comedic duo?" you laughed out. Everybody looked at you.

"No we're not!" Yato shouted waving his hands frantically in the air. Hiyori began to laugh.

"Well anyways, we are all happy to meet you", Hiyori said with a sweet smile. She extended her hand for you too shake. You hesitated at first but you did shake her hand in the end. This was the moment that changed your life completely.
