As Peridot made her way through the bushes and past more homes of humans, she started to slow her pace the further she got from your home. She silently mumbled to herself "What was with that human? Why did she simply free me as I infiltrated her living base?" As she pondered her thoughts for a while, she started to realize that you were somewhat right. She was technically lost, never being on Earth before and all. Peridot looked up as she heard a loud booming upwards between the clouds.

"What was that..?" She asked herself in a nervously cracked tone. Peridot stood their for a moment, noticing the clouds growing darker and more cloudy as she looked up into the sky. She started to worry and get anxious as she got up the courage to head through the streets and sidewalks timidly. No one was around, as it was late in the evening now.

Suddenly and without warning, a loud boom erupted from the clouds and it began to rain. As Peridot was not from Earth, she had no clue what this liquid from the sky was. As the light rain began to pelt her skin, she panicked. "Oh clod! I'm going to die here!"

As Peridot ran awkwardly for some sort of cover, still missing one of her robotic feet, she soon found a large refrigerator box beside a dumpster. She quickly ran for it, as she didn't have any other idea to act upon.

Peridot crouched down into the box and held her legs close to herself as the cold started to get to her. She screamed to herself in panic and worry. "What is wrong with this insufferable planet?!"

As Peridot waited out the storm until morning, she was to frightened to even think about moving, even after the storm had settled. The puddles around her seemed to be acidic, and the streets started to bustle with people from the town. Lucky for her, she had a few walls to shield herself from prying eyes. What she didn't know, is that she was hiding in the garbage dump behind the Big Donut.

In the morning you awoke, still having fresh memories of Peridot on your mind from the night before. What was she tearing apart your home looking for? What does she know about Steven that you wouldn't? Why was she green? All of the questions twirling in your head as you brushed your teeth and did you hair for the day.

As you pulled on your Big Donut Tee Shirt and headed out of your home, you had a feeling you might see her again soon. If she was still in the City, she might cross your path again, and you might be able to ask her more questions.

Once you got to your work, you waved yourself in to Sadie and Lars, giving them a 'Good Morning' and clocked yourself in to work.

The day ran as normal, until you later took out the trash from the front, as it became full due to the morning rush hours filled with coffee and donuts. When you went to lift the lid of the trash you noticed the refrigerator box still sitting out to the side, dampened from the rain of last night. You rolled your eyes, setting your trash bags down and mumbled to yourself. "Lars, can't you throw a simple box away?"

But when you went to drag one side of the box up to lift it, it only slightly budged, and you heard a loud "HEY! Watch it!" as a green figure fell out.

"Whoa! It's you! What are you doing in this wet box?" You were worried. So she was homeless? What was going on here?

Peridot looked up at you and her face became a bit shocked in turn. "W-What are you doing here, human? Can't you see I'm using this...box..thing?!" She seemed frustrated as she waved her arms, gesturing to her now slightly ripped box.

"Yeah i see that. that's why I'm asking why? Wait.. Were you here all night?! Oh gosh weren't you cold?!" Your kind side bubbled out, as you got on your knees to get to eye level with her on the ground. You swiftly took off your jean jacket and put it over her shoulders gently.

"You can borrow that, okay" you smiled "Here, come inside." You grabbed her by the arm gently. Peridot being overwhelmed with confusion, she didn't have time to protest.

When you got to opening the door, she spoke up in bewilderment. "What are you doing, human? Why does it matter to you what I did last night?" Her face was twisted in confusion and embarrassment. "Well, I would be concerned for anyone who had to sleep in a box at night out in the rain." You said. You smiled warmly, something that Peridot didn't seem to see often.

As Peridot seemed to keep her guard up, she followed you with caution. You lead her to the back room where Sadie, Lars, and you all took your breaks. You sat her down on the big pile of napkins Sadie liked to take naps on between breaks. "Are you hungry or thirsty? I can grab you something from the front." You offered.

Peridot's face twisted with confusion once more. "H-hunger? Humans use substance?"

You seemed to catch on to the fact she was calling you a human, as if it were another species than she was. 'That would explain the green skin' you thought. It all seemed to unreal, though, even though it was right in front of you.

You then heard Sadie calling your name, asking if you were back from taking out the trash. "J-Just a minute! I'll be right there!" You called back, startled by her voice. You looked back at Peridot worriedly, sighing slightly. You then thinking of an idea. "Peridot..That was your name right?"

She paused for a moment before speaking, "Correct." squinting her eyes at you. "Can you stay here for a while?" You started in again. "There's TV here for you to keep you busy. I have an idea, but you'll need to give me a bit of time, okay?" You waited for an answer.

"I suppose.. Does this 'idea' concern me?" She questioned, grabbing onto your jacket from the sides without realizing it.

"Yes" You smiled back.

You kept your warm smile on your face, grabbing the remote and turning the TV towards her. When you handed her the remote, you turned the TV on and continued to encourage her to use the remote. "I just need to you to stay here until my shift is done. I'm about to clock out, so you won't have to wait long, okay?"

Before Peridot could protest, you turned around, and walked back to the front, only to stop for a moment to say "I'll be back!" with a smile.
