As We Change (Seasons)

The snow lays on the ground
As the cold breeze blows
Bitterly, we turn around
Our backs towards the cold

Winter bites, as frost settles
And we freeze in our depression
Will we stay here, still
Or shall we rise from our oppressions?

As we change like the seasons
As we live in the hard times
Will we press on or give in?
Will we stand for truth or lies?

Winter shall melt away
It won't be this cold
Forever: hope shines today
Rise, courageous and bold

Spring blossoms like the morning
And as the rain livens the land
Grass sprouts, newly green
And the time of blessing is at hand!

As we change like the seasons
As we live in blessed times
We find our very freedom
In the reels and rhymes of time!

The sun scorches so deep
Burning in our core
There is no rest: we can't sleep
For peace has been no more

Summer heat with a strong thirst
We faint and grow weary these days;
Hard to put Christ first
As we're refined as gold in the flames

As we change like the seasons
And days keep passing by
Pain and beauty are reason
For me to stay awake and alive!

The leaves fall in the wind
Relief from our fire
We rest in this as God sends
The peace we so desire

Autumn breeze, and misty air
We finally shed our worries
Casting down all cares
Refreshing our souls as the flame leaves

We all change like the seasons
And live both blessed and rough lives
We find our very freedom
In the reels and rhymes of time!
