Images in a Mirror

You were there the night I died
A thousand times I said goodbye
Regrets wake a fearful soul
Images in a mirror say I told you so.
A dark mist rolls upon this grave
Tightened muscles say you're brave
Not to shed a tear for the man who died
By your hand. I am sure many vied
For a chance to pull the latch
But you drew the lot in your hopes to dispatch
My soul to deepest hell, a thousand years
Ago comes reckoned release, captive out of many fears.
You cannot leave this abode you do not remember
Your eternal imprisonment that cold December.
A/N: Images in a Mirror is a 14 line couplet poem.
