The others joined me an few seconds later after they had all said goodbye to it and Drew made his way to my side, sending me a look that read 'are you okay?' Before he shifted his gaze to Lucy, who had gone back to the snack counter to actually do her job instead of bugging us. Sighing softly when I realized that Drew had figured everything out, including my ever-growing feelings for Laurence, I nodded sadly, knowing there was no use in hiding it fro him. He shot me a sympathetic look as his hand laced in mine, giving it a sympathetic squeeze. And while his hand wasn't exactly Laurence's, it still felt nice and for some reason, I felt my cheeks redden.

"Drew, sweetie stop fidgeting and listen to the safety instructions and the rules the man is telling you" I heard Shane whisper from his place beside me, trying his very best sound annoyed at me but his amusement for my childish behavior shone through his voice. I giggled.

" I can't help it Shaney, I haven't been to Lazer Zone before and I just want to skip this bit and start playing" I whined quietly in Shane's ear, keeping my voice just low enough so that the other people in the room couldn't hear us. Unlike me, they had no trouble in listening and paying attention but I continued to fidget helplessly.

" I swear to god Drew, if you don't stop fidgeting I will make you sit on my knee like a small child and hold you still" Shane's voice whispered in my ear, causing goosebumps to rise on my arms for some unknown reason.

" Sounds kinky" I heard Kier whisper from behind us, a slight smirk prominent in his voice but we just ignored him and as I tried, and failed not to fidget.

" I warned you Drew" Shane pointed out from beside me and I giggled slightly before settling myself in his lap.

*in the actual game*
I whimpered loudly at the darkness that engulfed me, only the slashes of bright neon from other players packs slicing through it. I didn't like it, I hated the darkness pretty severely at home but in a strange place..,it was torture

Nervously, my eyes scanned the room, straining slightly due to the lack of lightening, as I searched for familiar faces of my friends, but it was impossible to tell who was who in the darkness, as they all whizzed past in a blur of colours, too intent on playing the game to notice me having a panic attack in the corner.

I needed Shane!

Taking a deep breath, I pushed myself away from the wall, accepting that if I wanted Shane that I would have it brave walking through the manic throng of players and find him somewhere in the 'arena'.

Seconds later, a hard body collided with my own, sending us both spiraling to the Rock hard ground.

" oh my god, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you-" I started to babble to the mystery person who I had accidentally knocked down in my haste. My voice cracked slightly as I spoke and I came to accept that there was no way I could possibly find Shane in this mayhem.

" Drew? Is that you cutie?" A voice I instantly recognized to be Shane's cut through the darkness, calming my nerves just by knowing he was here. Seconds later, my arms flung around him as I nuzzled into his neck.

" Drew? What's wrong? Did something bad happen?" Shane questioned as soon as he felt my pathetic tears hit his pale neck, babbling a little in his haste. Not that I particularly minded that, I had always found it rather cute when Shane babbled from time to time but I had never quite had the confidence to bring that up around the others.

" It's too dark!" I whimpered, mentally kicking myself for the way my weak, tear chocked voice cracked at the end of my sentence, making me seem even needier that I had before. All I ever did was cry to Shane the moment something difficult cropped up in my life instead of just handling it by myself, but I couldn't help that. Shane always knew what to do in difficult situations and some how managed to make everything better with the simplest of things. He had talked me out of so much...
