" Hey! I was only a few minutes late and I don't appreciate the stupid nicknames, Beveridge. Besides, it takes a lot of effort to look this good" Kier yelled indignantly as he made his way into the living room, his signature smirk on his face that he seemed to wear everywhere lately. His reply to Laurence was cheeky as always and I couldn't stop a small chuckle from protruding my lips, though I quickly masked it, not wanting to get caught up in if this turned into an argument, even though I could tell they were both joking around.
Laurence looked like he was about to reply something equally as snippy back but luckily, Luke caught onto how excited I was to leave the flat and stepped in before Laurence could speak up again.
" Guys, can you two continue this stupid argument thingy on the way there? I mean, we are already ten minutes late and you know how Drew can get with surprises" Luke suggested and the others both started nodding, giggling to themselves childishly, as though they were two naughty children at school who had been told off by the class teacher and had found the whole ordeal hilarious. Both shaking our heads at their actions, me and Luke slipped on our shoes and grabbed our jackets before walking out of the flat and down the high street, Keveridge skipping along in front like the little kids they were.
*time skip*
It wasn't particularly a long walk to wherever the hell we were actually going but to me, the minutes seemed to drag on endlessly as I waited anxiously to see what all this was about and why everyone was being so secretive with me. A part of me hoped that Shane had something to do with this but I knew that was impossible and that in reality, he had been called into art collage and that the others had taken advantage of the fact that he wasn't here to protect me and had tricked me into going shopping with Kier again. I still never would recover from last time that happened!
I could sense that my endless bouts of questions and extremely hyper behavior was staring to annoy the others as we strolled along leisurely but I couldn't help it, even though I still couldn't figure out why they would waste time trying to do anything nice for me. Just the slight possibility of somebody doing something like that for me sent me into a manic frenzy of happiness as nobody had ever done it before, at least not since my parents died.
Eventually, we reached our destination which I realized, to my complete surprise and utter delight, was Lazer Zone.
The guys caught sight of my childish expression and giggled slightly before kier gently grabbed my wrist and lead me inside. I eagerly followed after him, still smiling like an idiot and not caring how childish I seemed. I had never been to Lazer Zone before as my parents had always declared it was too violent and after they died, I didn't have the money to do fun things, only enough to get the stuff I desperately needed. Kier went a lot with some of his friends from school, using money he managed to beg from Laurence but the reason I didn't tag along was kind of self explanatory. Kiers friends hated me with a burning passion and they were mostly the ones who taunted and teased me everyday and told me to go kill my self regularly. Of course, kier didn't know about any of this but if he did, I could never expect him to pick his friends over me. He shouldn't have to be an outcast just because of me.
As soon as we entered the building I spotted Shane stood awkwardly to the side and I ran up to him and wrapped my arms tightly around him. For some strange reason, I had missed his presence so much it had hurt me inside when he wasn't there and now, I never wanted to let him go. Luckily, it seemed like he didn't either as he quickly returned my gesture, practically throwing his arms around me in his haste to have me near.
" Earth to timids! Do you want us to come back later?" I heard Kier joke from beside us both, causing Shane to pull away and blush violently, though I could have sworn I heard him sigh slightly under his breath as he did so, looking almost as disappointed as I felt inside. But I quickly masked that up, not wanting Kier to start his endless 'timids' taunting, not after that kiss.
