Victoria's POV

Almost inaudible sobs awoke me from my peaceful slumber. I lent up on one arm and rubbed my eyes before popping them open. Black spots danced in my vision and I blinked a few times to get rid of them. Throwing the sheets off me I jumped down the bed and stretched my arms, feeling more alive then before.

The sobs were louder now, I threw one last glance at my mother and turned towards the door to find the source of the treacherous sound. The same row of doors came in sight and I walked out in the chilly hallway. Here you could hear sexual moans and laughter, but the sobbing was still continuous. I crinkled my nose in disgust and walked towards the only source of light in the entire hallway.

How do people even sleep here..?

There was a small flash of light besides the large frames of creepy old people. I opened what seemed to be a door and was met by a room illuminated by a single red light. The dark room.

Photographs hung on strings and large pans filled with water lay below them. Barrels and jugs were scattered around the room. Nice.

The room however was silent but I could hear the soft and uneven breathing. I stepped inside the room and closed the door behind me. I walked towards the largest barrel and looked behind it. Empty.

"What do you want?" A raspy yet cold voice came from behind me. I turned around and a girl came to sight. Oh and she was also holding a gun to my head.

"Uh, there's no need for that. I was just curious as to who was sobbing." I spoke, my voice close to cracking. I am going to die, this is it. Oh Goddess, forgive me for all the sins I have.. She let out a loud sigh and dropped the gun to the floor, before sitting down as well. Nevermind. I hesitantly sat down as well.

"Are you alright?" I asked, trying to soothe my nerves.

"No." She bluntly said.

Okay then..

"Have you ever been in love?" She asked, her hazel eyes tearing up.

"Not really, I mean I had many boyfriends in high school and I thought I was in love with them but you know.." She looked at me as if I had grown two heads. "Nope. Never been in love."

She nodded, " Theres this guy, his name is Edward Lancaster. I'm his mate, but he resists me. Even after accepting me. I know I am human, I'm not a temptress either but is that what I deserve? He brings me into an unknown world full of mysterious creatures and leaves me to fend for myself. How is one supposed to cope with that? And now he has left to pour my heart out to some random weird stranger and I don't know what to do."

My eyes widened at her rant. Man, this is bad.

"One isn't supposed to cope with it. I'm not saying that you walk out on him and leave him alone. I'm saying that you make him pay for hurting you. Don't let him do it furthermore. If he still doesn't do anything by the end of it, then walk out because a pretty face like yours doesn't look good with tears and I am a hundred percent sure there will be someone out there who is willing to wipe them off. Oh and this weird stranger can be really kind, she won't judge you," I gave her a soft smile and held her hand in mine.

She rubbed her eyes dry and gave me a dazzling smile.

"Thank you so much, I'm so sorry for this..I'm not usually like this. Anyway, I'm Heather ray. The stupid human stuck in this mess."
