Hi guys! I hope you will be pleased with this update and the one to come because I abandoned so much for you *cue dramatic music and swooning*. But seriously, I hope you like it because I put a lot of effort in it. Enough with the rambling, go straight to the story.

Chapter Eighteen: Bumping into Fate.

It was two weeks after the date and Gisele and Slate had grown so much more closer. To say Gisele was happy would be an understatement. No, she was not happy but she was downright ecstatic!

She got to know about Slate; his left eye twitched when he found something funny, he hated spicy food. But when the topic of his ex-wife came up, he would close himself out from people; or rather her. He must have loved her a lot , she mused. (lol. Im actually lyk 'if only u knew' :))

She would definitely crack through his defenses and show him that he could trust her.

She was cut off from her thoughts by Callie.
"Gigi, I don't like Daddy anymore", the kid said.

Gisele looked at her, a bit confused and amused at the same time.

"Why not?", she asked.

"Because he stole you away from me!", Callie cried passionately, putting a hand on her forehead.

At this Gisele started laughing, the kid was so dramatic.

"Oh, my dear princessa, fear not! Your Daddy didn't steal me. To prove that, we'll have cream together, okay?", Gisele replied.

Callie, while giggling, said, "Okay".

*Ice cream shop*

"Callie, hunny, what flavor do you want?", Gisele asked.

Callie scrunched her face up in concentration then said, "Chocolate, just chocolate", as if she had found the formula to a mathematics problem.

Soon enough, Gisele gave Callie her 'just chocolate' flavor, then took her vanilla. As they were walking towards the car and towards Mr. Suresh, Gisele bumped into somebody and her ice cream fell on the person's no doubt expensive suit.

"Oh, God, I'm so sorry!", she exclaimed, while looking up to the unfortunate person. She almost stumbled at what, or rather who she saw.

"Papa?" was the only word she uttered. It was like she was in a trance. She blinked rapidly, as if to affirm that what she was seeing in front of her was real. The man's face crumpled, and his eyes were glistening with tears.

"Chloe, mon ange", he said, reaching out to touch her. He was the only person who ever called her Chloe, and that name brought back a whole load of happy memories.

Flashback(Translations at the end of chapter)

"Papa, attends! Non, non. Je ne suis plus un bebe. Je suis adulte, et les adultes, ca ne se porte pas", Six-year-old Gisele said, trying to stifle a giggle as her father was swinging her in the air.

Her father pretended to wipe a tear and said, "Mais tu est mon bebe a moi, Chloe, je dois te porter."

Then he proceeded to start tickling her.
