Grace's POV
Nico and I were not speaking to each other. It was starting to drive me crazy, not talking to him, but I stayed strong. Instead, I would go and vent to Aiden in the woods. He was a great listener, and he always gave me great advice. On the other hand, Simon was trying even harder to get me to go out with him. Damon had retreated into a corner and would just give me wishful looks and small smiles. It all seemed to come out of a really bad romance novel. All that ran through my head as I finished packing my bags. Yep, I was going to try to spend a few weeks with my parents. If I didn't get killed the first week, I would keep testing my luck. Brilliant right?
Jason was waiting for me outside. Without asking, he heaved one of my bags over his shoulder. He was giving me a ride to New York where I would take a bus home. The trip was a little awkward, but not too badly.
Jason dropped me off and waited with me until the bus got there. "Oh," he straightened his glasses, "I almost forgot to give you this," Out of his backpack, he brought a small lunch box, "Nadia wanted me to give it to you in case she couldn't come to see you off," I opened it and found cookies, boxes of juice, and enough chocolate to feed an army. I grinned.
"Thanks Jason," I shook his hand and then grabbed my bags, "I'll see you in a few months, weeks, days, dunno,"
"Have fun," he waved as I climbed into my bus.
"Oh yeah," I replied sarcastically, "Avoiding monsters is one of my favorite hobbies,"
Nadia's POV
I saw him hurting Bella. He was holding her gruffly and shaking her. Because I'd told someone of what he'd done. I didn't mean to see anything. I just was at the wrong place at the wrong time. He threatened to hurt Bella if I told anyone, so I left. I'd caught him beating up a younger kid, maybe twelve years old. I got mad at him, then he grabbed me and threatened to hurt Bella. I should have stayed, but I didn't. I was a coward.
I wake up gasping and shaking. Beside me, Tommy is purring. I stroke him and snuggle up to him. He purrs a little louder to let me know he was ok with me that close. "Thanks buddy," I whisper as I continue stroking his silky coat.
The next morning, I woke up to see Ariadne bustling around my room. "Morning," I croaked.
"Hi sweetie, nice to see you're up. Sorry to wake you, but I just remembered that I forgot to mention to you that today is your father and I's anniversary! We're hosting a party tonight and I was just looking through your closet for something you can wear. It's formal, so it has to be one of your nicer dresses..." she continued ranting. I rolled out of bed and smiled at her.
After breakfast, and a small fashion show my mother insisted on, Eurus and I were sitting in the sun on a bench among the bustling crown of Olympus. Annabeth was a little ways away showing some cyclops how she wanted an archway. I waved, and she waved back, but we really didn't talk at all. "What are you thinking about, darling?" Eurus asked me. He knew I loved and hated the nickname 'darling'.
"Just thinking about how nice that archway would look if it lead to a garden," I shrugged.
"Well," Eurus grinned, "What if instead the archway led to an altar where I'm waiting for you?"
"Hold the proposal until I'm out of college ok?" I laughed, "But that would be nice,"
"I better take note," he joked.
Author's Note:
Guys! Hey, how are you? (answer me, I really want to know how you guys are doing) I hope you're alright. Begging of the school year can be hard. Anyway, what I wanted to mention was that someone pointed out that sometimes in my chapters it says Devon instead of Damon, and I really wanted to explain that. They aren't two people. It's the same guy, but my autocorrect changes him to Devon. I'll try to be a little more careful with that. Sorry if I confused anyone!
