Unknown Number (A Short Story)

Chapter 6 - The First Morning.

I woke up at 5 am, after waking up at 1 AM. I had to feed Daisy her formula every 4 hours, bye bye sleep. I walked over to sleeping Daisy, and rubbed her stomach to wake her up. A grin formed on my face as I watched the cute little baby yawn and stretch. I giggled. "Morning lil Daisy. How was your sleeping?" I asked in a child like voice. I picked her up and walked to the kitchen to grab her formula. I took the bottle to her mouth and watched Daisy suck the milk into her mouth. She was adorable. As I fed Daisy I walked to her nursery again and layed her on the changing table. I had already picked out her outfit last night. I changed her diaper and put a yellow onesie with 2 pink birds on her. I picked her up and just looked at her. 

River walked in "Hey, how's my little niece?" She asked. "Good. She seems to be in a happy mood." I said. "Well good." She replied. "Oh my gosh! Guess what?" I said to River. "What?" she replied. "Daisy rolled over last night." I said. "No way!" She said excitedly. "Yep!" I replied. "She's growing so fast." River said. My smile faded and I looked down at Daisy. "She spent so long in the hospital, everything happened so fast. This is my first morning with her and she can already move and roll over an laugh, I missed so much..." I said. "That's not your fault." She said. "I know...I just wish it didn't have to be a problem. I wish I had seen her from the beginning." I said. River was silent. "I miss Dylan.." I said tearing up. "I do to.." River said.
