I'm the writer behind AFTER HOURS, and honestly... I have no idea whether I should apologize for what I'm about to put these characters through. 

After Hours is a teen thriller filled with romance, secrets, crime, school drama, questionable decisions, and way too many situations where someone probably should've just minded their business.

The story follows Amara Sinclair, a seventeen-year-old trying to keep her life together while dealing with problems at home, school, and money becoming a bigger issue than she expected.

Amara isn't looking for trouble.

Unfortunately for her, trouble seems to have her on speed dial.

One invitation to an underground race changes everything. What starts as a way to make some money slowly pulls her into a world of illegal races, secrets, mysterious deliveries, and people who definitely aren't telling her the whole truth.

And then there's Adrian Calloway.

Eighteen. Rich. Popular. The school's golden boy.

The type of person everyone seems to know, and somehow, nobody really knows.

Adrian has been around the underground racing scene much longer than Amara realizes, and when she starts asking questions, he's one of the first people to tell her to stop.

Obviously... she doesn't listen. 

Amara and Adrian don't exactly get along at first.

There is suspicion.

Arguments.

Secrets.

A whole lot of "Why are you acting so weird?"

And unfortunately for both of them... a little too much chemistry.

But their relationship isn't the only thing happening.

There's Jace Morgan, Adrian's sarcastic best friend who somehow manages to make jokes during situations where absolutely nobody should be joking.

Kiara James, Amara's best friend, who is protective enough to question basically every decision Amara makes.

And Zane Carter, Adrian's rival, who seems to know much more about the underground world than he's willing to admit.

As Amara gets deeper into everything, she discovers that the races aren't simply about cars and money.

There are secrets behind them.

And those secrets might be much closer to home than she ever imagined.
