In the pitch-black room of the mansion, a man stood near the door.

Some people enter like a dream.

He entered like a warning.

The room was mostly dark. There was only a single lamp beside the bed, its weak light falling across her sleeping figure.

He slowly took a seat beside the bed, sitting as though he owned the room, the mansion, and perhaps even the city of Milan itself.

His eyes never dared to lose sight of her.

She was sleeping peacefully.

Unaware of the nightmare sitting beside her.

He looked calm.

Too calm.

Calmer than a person who had made the entire security team of the mansion feel uneasy at two in the afternoon.

Everyone already knew who he was.

Adrian Vescari.

The heir to the Vescari empire.

The man whose name could make businessmen lose sleep.

The man newspapers never managed to photograph clearly.

The man people called...

The Devil of Milan.

Tonight, he had come to reject someone.

But it seemed his plan was about to change.

The woman sleeping on the bed suddenly felt as though someone was watching her.

A strange sensation crawled across her skin.

Then she felt a hand gently brush through her hair.

Startled, she opened her eyes.

The first thing she noticed was a pair of dark eyes staring directly at her.

They weren't angry.

They weren't hurried.

They looked almost as if he were wondering how much pain she could endure.

A sudden shiver ran down her spine when his eyes met hers.

She froze.

She couldn't move.

His gaze remained fixed on her, making her feel trapped even before he moved.

A faint smirk appeared on his lips.

His eyes lingered for a moment before returning to her frightened face.

She swallowed nervously.

She wanted to scream.

She wanted to yell.

But the words died somewhere inside her

There was something about his presence that frightened her.

Not simply fear.

Something more dangerous.

Something she couldn't understand.

Before she could react, he leaned closer, trapping her beneath his shadow.

His hand caught her jaw—not painfully, but firmly enough to make his presence impossible to ignore.

His eyes never left hers.

Then he whispered,

"Do you see me in your nightmares, doll?"

He leaned a little closer.

"Or are you trying to escape from my cage?"

She gathered whatever courage she could find.

"What are you doing here?"

Her voice trembled.

"Leave me alone, you monster."

"I didn't cage you so you can escape for me, doll"?

She lower her gaze .

"You can't just enter in someone's room and specially at 2PM.

He raised his eyebrows, glanced at her.

"You can throw me today from your room, but you can't throw the memories which we have spend with each other"

She stared at him, completely confused.

"What are you talking about?"

Adrian slowly stood.

For the first time, the amusement disappeared from his face.

"You'll remember."

He lose the grip of his hand.

He turned toward the door.

She frowned. "Remember what?"

He stopped.

Without looking back, he said,

"The night you want to forgot everything."

And then he walked out.

She remained frozen on the bed.

Because she had never told anyone about that night.

What she has not told ?

Who is he to her?

What ge remember about her which she want to forget?
