Compliments from Yoongi were rare. Y/N knew that, and making a big deal out of this was one thing she wasn't going to do today. If thirteen years of friendship with Yoongi had taught her anything, it was how to decipher his particular language of praise. A nod from him meant it was good, a thumbs-up meant really good, and actual words of praise meant she should probably mark the date on a calendar because it was never happening again. Still, Y/N couldn't help the smile that stayed with her long after she put her phone down. She was happy, to say the least. The next morning, she stopped by the coffee shop she and Yoongi had been going to for years. She ordered her usual before glancing at the menu, already knowing what she was going to get for him. His order had become as familiar as her own. As she waited, she pulled out her phone.

Yoongi and Y/N had known each other the longest. Then they met Namjoon, the missing piece neither of them knew they needed. The three spent countless nights crowded around the same mixing board, surviving on takeout and fighting over unfinished demos and lyrics that never quite felt right. Somehow, someway, they always managed to turn chaos into something worth listening to. Around the company, people started calling them 'The Magical Trio '. Anything the three of them touched seemed to turn to gold or platinum, eventually earning them a reputation as some of the hottest producers in the business. Y/N thought the nickname was ridiculous, but secretly she loved it. So when the schedule for the new album landed in her inbox, the first thing she noticed wasn't how many sessions she'd been assigned; it was how few times all three of their names appeared together. She frowned at the screen before reaching for her phone.
