As there was a sandstrom i stood there and took it in. There was a war that I couldn't fight in. A war of despair, A war of bad intentions, A war of trials and errors. A war that I was brought into. A war that I couldn't compete in too. So as I stood there with a rifle in my hands, finger on the trigger. My mind went haywire. There was an explosion of some sort.
Many people lie here. Many fallen troopers die for our generation. Generations of false hope and false freedom. A generation of neglect. I sat there questioning how I got myself here.
The Beginning...
"Henry, are you really going to drop out?" Antony asked, with a concerned tone.
I thought about it for a while. Wondering if i should confirm it with him? Or should I lie to him? I don't really have a choice. He's going to notice anyway. I sighed and said,"Yes, school isn't really for me."
His facial expression went from concern to upset. His head went down. Confirming that he was truly upset.
I've felt like I did something wrong. I regretted it. Until he interrupted it.
"I'm going to drop-out with you." He responded. My face lit up not with excitement but confusion.
I asked,"Why do you want to drop-out? I thought that you wanted to go to college?" His response was,"Bro, you are like a brother to me, I look up to you. Even though we are both the same age. Even though we had different parents and opinions."
That touched me. It hit home. I became teary eyed. I didn't know how to feel. I don't know If i should be honored or feel dismay.
He looked into my eyes and asked,"Are you ok?" I respond with"Yes I just feel honored." He smiled.
The bell rang indicating that it was time to the next period. Antony questioned me the entirely of the school day.
