an unforced error in tennis is a mistake made by a player on a routine, playable shot that is entirely the result of their own poor execution or choice, rather than any exceptional pressure or skill from their opponent.

Zaria Bridges has a lot on her plate.
A sophomore at Hillman College, highly ranked NCAA Division I tennis player, committee chair, and a student determined to fight her way to the number one ranking in the country, Zaria doesn't have time for distractions-especially not football players.
Unfortunately, Andre, Hillman's upcoming quarterback and team captain, has been trying to get her attention. And just when he finally starts getting somewhere, her first love comes sweeping back into her life.
Shaquille Johnson. Five-star recruit. Football prodigy. Her ex-boyfriend...? Could she even call him that- her situationship rather.
Unfortunately for him, Zaria wants absolutely nothing to do with him-or his commitment issues, daddy issues, or his talent for turning relationships into situationships. Shaquille, on the other hand, wants everything to do with her.
He's determined to prove he's changed. Zaria is determined not to give him the chance.
But when your first love refuses to stay in the past, avoiding him might be easier said than done.

𐙚⋆.˚authors note - welcome! super excited for this one. the events in this book won't follow the series exactly. i loveddd the series but it felt so rushed, it genuinely could've been 20 episodes 🥹 so i'll definitely be adding more of my own things. (disclaimer: i am not American/not from America and i have never attended an HBCU, so some things might not be entirely accurate, i'll research to my best abilities but feel free to correct me. but please keep in mind that it is fanfiction at the end of the day.) also i know shaquille doesn't really have daddy issues like that that but in this book it'll be dramatised a little- just a little.
(AND YES I KNOW HOW TO USE A DASH AND PUNCTUATION AND FIGURES OF SPEECH, it's not AI, i finished high school with a distinction in english 🙄)
