Despite my hangover, I attended my day shift duty at the hospital.  I woke up this morning with pain banging my head. I'ts good that the pain reliever is working. I've finished making my rounds and now sitting at the nurse station on my own thoughts. I'm troubled, how am I suppose to fix things with Sabina? I don't want her to hate me all her life. This got me really drunk at Ella's baby shower.

"Hi, Maddie!" Robin greeted from the other line. He's on emergency leave today. He must have hangover like me. "I'm sorry about last night."

Suddenly, something popped to my head - the sweet kiss!

"I'm sorry too. I was silly to take in too many alcohol last night. By the way, thanks for the ride." my voice faltered. The kiss really felt good. The warm embrace was assuring. I smiled at my thoughts.

There was silence on the other line. "What ride?"

Isn't he the one who brought me home last night? If it's not, who would that be?

"I must have dozed off last night, when I woke up everybody was gone including you.I feel guilty that I wasn't able to bring you home." Robin continued.

All the more I was puzzled. What was he saying? Holy crap, Not again! I was carried, kissed and brought home without my even knowing who he was. A sudden chill entered my body. What if the guy was a criminal, I got raped or killed helplessly. Me and my idiotic self. My thought was getting creepy.

"Maddie, are you okay? you still there?" Robin might notice my silence.

"Yeah, I'm okay. Don't worry I got home safe last night." I assured him. No I'm not! my inner voice shouted.

After few more talks, Robin hung up. I was still wondering about the mystery guy. I dialed Ella's phone.

"Hey, you called up early. How's your head?" Ella joyfully answered. She must have known I got a hang over this morning.

"Just hurting a little. By the way, Robin told me he was not the one who brought me home last night. Was it Lance?"

Ella chuckled. "You're saying you didn't know?"

"Do I have to ask you if I know?" My voice was irritated a bit.

"You're home safe, right? That's what matters now. Here's Theo" Ella avoided my question. She definitely know something.

"Hi, mommy!" Theo's voice soothed my troubled soul.

"How's my lovable son? Aren't you giving Ella and Lance a headache?"

"I'm a good boy, mommy. How about you?"

"Are you asking me if I am a good girl? Definitely, I am Sir!" I kidded him, though he couldn't see, I made a salute.

Theo laughed. "I miss you, baby. Mommy will fetch you tonight." I really missed my son. He's staying with Ella and Lance a couple of days.

"Not tonight, mom, please. We still have things to do right here with Uncle Lance. Please, mommy."

I agreed. My son enjoyed Lance' company that much. I sighed, he might not telling me but I guess, he's looking for a father figure. Until we hung up, Ella was nowhere in the line. She knows something on the mystery guy. Aww, it's killing me!
