AN YUJIN - POV

There were rules for everything in An Yujin's world.

She liked it that way.

Rules made things simple. Clear. Predictable.

At exactly 8:30 every morning, she expected her employees to be at their desks.

Meetings started on time.
Reports were submitted before deadlines, not five minutes after.

Mistakes were corrected, not covered up with excuses.

And when someone did their job exceptionally well, they were rewarded accordingly.

Yujin believed in both.

Reward and punishment.
Fairness required both.

"You're late."

The man standing across from her desk immediately lowered his head.

"I'm sorry, CEO An. There was an accident on the-"

"Did the accident prevent you from leaving home earlier?"

He fell silent.

Yujin looked down at the report in her hands.

"No."

"Then don't make excuses."

Her voice wasn't loud.
It didn't need to be.

Yujin had learned a long time ago that people listened more carefully when she spoke calmly.

She placed the report on the desk.

"Your meeting was at nine. You arrived at nine seventeen."

"I'm sorry."

"One hour of overtime after work."

The man nodded quickly.
"Yes, CEO An."

"And next time, leave earlier."

"Yes."

He bowed and left.
The door closed behind him.

Yujin sighed and leaned back in her chair.

She wasn't a bad person.
She knew that.

She paid her employees well.

She listened when they had genuine problems.

She never asked anyone to do something she wouldn't do herself.

But she expected people to take responsibility.
That was all.

Unfortunately, most people seemed to find her standards exhausting.

Especially her secretaries.

Her secretary position had become something of a cursed chair in the company.

No one seemed able to survive it for long.

One lasted three months.
Another lasted six weeks.

One brave soul managed to stay for almost four months before finally submitting a resignation letter with trembling hands.

Yujin had accepted every resignation without complaint.

She never understood why people couldn't simply do their jobs.

After all, she wasn't asking for the impossible.

She wanted punctuality.
Competence.
Discretion.
And someone who could keep up with her.

Apparently, that was asking for too much.

Yujin glanced toward the empty desk outside her office.

Her previous secretary had lasted exactly four weeks.
