It had been another long day at the O'Connor estate. I worked as a nanny for their three kids. Elena was eleven, Joshua was five, and Jeremy was 1. I loved these kids a lot and they loved me.
They were my favorite kids to nanny since they were well behaved and very sweet. "It's time to get ready for bed," I said, starting to collect Joshua's and Jeremy's toys off the ground. Joshua frowned,"Just a little longer? Please?" I smiled softly, Joshua knew how to get stuff out of me but I was really tired tonight so I had to say no just this once.
"Joshua, go get ready for bed. It's been a long day, okay?" I replied. Joshua pouted softly and walked towards the bathroom.
"Elena! Can you help your brother take a bath for me?"
Elena popped her head through Joshua's door."Of course, Miss Kayla!" Her soft feet patted across the feet as they headed towards the bathroom.
I grabbed a bin from the closet and put all the toys in there, gosh, why do these kids have so many toys?
I heard Jeremy laugh behind me and I turned around.
"What are you laughing at, little one?" I smirked, pushing the bin back in the closet and grabbing clothes for Joshua before shutting the closet door and walking over to Jeremy. I put Joshua's outfit on his bed and picked Jeremy up.
"You must be tired, it's a little past your bedtime, isn't it?" I brushed my nose against his cheek and little Jeremy giggled. I rested Jeremy against my hip and walked out of Joshua's room and headed towards Jeremy's room. I laid Jeremy on a table in his room and took his outfit off, walking over to his closet, I picked out a cute little elephant onesie for him. I walked back over and changed his diaper before putting the onesie on. Jeremy cooed softly, his eyes drooping.
I put Jeremy in his crib and sang him a song, he fell asleep within minutes.
I walked out of Jeremy's room and walked back into Joshua's room, he was dressed and laying in bed.
"What bedtime story do you want tonight?" I asked, taking a seat on the edge of his bed. Joshua looked at his bookcase with some books and fairy tales. He looked back at me with his wide eyes and said,"Can you tell me a story about your life?"
I froze. My life? My life wasn't something that was fun to talk about. I sighed, and looked at him. "Well, when I was five. My dad took me camping." Joshua's eyes widened, I don't think these kids have gone camping before. I smiled softly and continued,"We fished, roasted marshmallows, and we swam. And one night, we even saw a bear!" I said.
Joshua's eyes widened and his jaw dropped. I laughed and he whined."Good night, Joshua." I said and tucked him into bed.
I peeked into Elena's room on my way downstairs.
"Good night, Miss Kayla!" She said cheerfully. I smiled.
"Good night, Elena. See you Monday." I shut her door and walked downstairs.
"You heading out, Kayla?"
I looked to the right to see Charles, one of the bodyguards at the estate.
I nodded."Yeah, it's been a long day and I just want to relax this weekend." Charles laughed, a deep sound that echoed from his throat.
"Wanna grab coffee again sometime?" He asked, and I nodded. We had gotten coffee twice, he was pretty cute and I didn't mind a strong, handsome man chasing me. I grabbed my bag off the table near the door and headed out.
