The cold prison walls were closing in around him as they led him down the hall. 5 years. 5 years in this hell hole with nothing but his thoughts to keep him company. He was enraged. That Tay. She had ruined his life, his plans. And she had taken a part of him. Left him weak and crumbled on the floor. They led him into the chapel and sat him down in the front row. A hefty man in sunglasses and a blue suit walked up to the podium. The swagger and charisma oozed from him, and in that moment, JayWhyPee had never admired a man more. This. This is what he wanted to be. Not the weak, pathetic man he was before—that man crumbled on the wooden floor in the back room of the Applebees ™️. He wanted to be this man.

The man opened his mouth.

"Forgiveness," he said. "When the Roman soldiers killed Christ, he did not smite them. He did not damn them to hell. He reached out to his father and he said, 'father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.'"

He was enthralled by the man's words. How could he forgive? How could he move on? After everything Tay had done. Everything she had taken from him. Could he let it go?

After the sermon, JayWhyPee approached the man in the blue suit. The man who had captured him so fully. He dropped to his knees, his chains rattling behind him. "Your words," he said, tears in his eyes. "What can I do to achieve the forgiveness you speak of?"

The man looked down at JayWhyPee and touched his head gingerly. Jay looked up at the man, at his reflection in his glasses. He didn't recognize this man. Pathetic. Weak. Begging on the floor. He looked past his reflection into the man's face. A smile spread across his rosy cheeks, endearing yet sinister."My child", he said. "We have a lot of work to do."
