Snap! A camera shutter can be heard.
The hum of the wind echoed. The chime of the bells could be heard from a distance. That's the life that he always lived. It always happens to be another noise that enters and becomes the center of his life, never him who owns it.
Gabriel Luis S. Reyes was only a high school student, with no idea what kind of life lay ahead of him. He didn't bother to think because... What was the point at all? He had nothing; he was nothing.
He wasn't good at anything that could make him noticeable. He was simply just...Him. Who would like him anyway? That was what he thought. Who would love someone who has nothing to give?
And so he was left alone in his dull world with a camera in hand.
Snap!
The sound of a camera can't be heard in a crowded place. It was a school festival, and everyone was laughing and enjoying the moment. A girl grabbed her friend and led her to one of the stalls; a boy was talking in front of his friend, his voice swallowed by the noise of the crowd. And some students who were standing in front of the stalls were shouting happily to catch other students' attention. It was one of those days when the world seemed the happiest.
And there in the bustling crowd was a blonde boy standing still; he was calm and steady. Looking straight at him as the world stopped between them. And for a moment, he couldn't help but lower his camera.
They looked at each other, and neither could tell why; even in the crowded place, there was still someone who would stay still for him. Like the empty train station, the streets, and the empty classrooms. But this time, instead of capturing the moment, he set his camera down to look at him.
And that day was the day he remembered how to live in the moment.
