First day back to school, tons of cars pulls into the parking lot as students reunite after summer. Music blasts from someone's car. Groups crowd the front steps, taking pictures and talking about what happened over break.
A black SUV pulls up, as Ava Sinclair steps out, followed by her best friends Milan Brooks and Dani Monroe.
Ava Yoma was the kind of girl who naturally drew attention the moment she walked into a room. She had long beautiful hair, striking eyes, soft features, and a confident presence that made people look twice. Her style was effortlessly pretty, and she carried herself with quiet confidence. At Westbridge High, heads often turned when Ava walked through the halls—not because she tried to stand out, but because she simply did.
Dani pulls out her lip gloss from her pockets and lightly puts it on wanting to get the attention.
Dani: "Senior year, New year. New me."
Milan: "You said that junior year."
Dani: "And I meant it for at least three days."

Ava: "Can we please have one peaceful year? No fights, no rumors, No relationship drama."

Dani: "Peace was never an option with that boy."

Ava smiles happily before leaning up to kiss his lips.
Ava: "Aww thank you babe, that was so sweet of you."
Jaylen: "Of course. It feels good to shower you with gifts."
He said that before kissing her forehead.
Dani pretends to gag from behind them watching the whole scene in front of her.
Dani: "Please. Some of us are single."
Milan: "That's because you investigate everybody you date."
Dani: "Background checks save lives."
Everyone laughs.
Jaylen's phone suddenly buzzes.
He checks the screen.
His expression changes.
Ava notices.
Ava: "Who is it?"
Jaylen immediately locks his phone.
Jaylen: "Nobody."
Ava: "Nobody texted you?"
Jaylen: "Team group chat."
Ava stares at him for another second.
The bell rings.
Jaylen rubs her shoulders and says,
Jaylen: "It's nothing baby. Just the boys fooling around in the chat."
Dani watches him.
Dani: "Team group chat my—"
Ava: "Dani."
Dani: "I'm just saying."
