Flashback, elementary school

nylah sits in her seat, playing with her fingers as she glanced at another girl, Leilani. She'd never dare speak to her, she was too nervous and did not exactly fit leilani's standards.

Leilani only spoke to the "cool girls" but poor nylah had been kicked out of the little group, nyah couldn't stop thinking about how bad she wanted a playdate with her

"Nylah!" The teacher scolds

"Y-Yes ma'am sorry" nyah speaks softly, she didn't realize she was being called on

"Do you know the answer to 5x2?"

"Um..". Math wasn't really nylahs favorite

"15..?" She said shyly

The teacher sighs "little over, but good job."

Leilani snickers, as well as a few of her other classmates

Nylah blushes, "I make her laugh! I'm funny" she smiled to herself

Maybe she will be my friend! She thought.

Flashback over

"So are you ready for tomorrow??" My mother said as we ate at the table

"Ughh I guess I wish break was longer" I rolled my eyes at the thought of school,but at least I get to see her.

"Oh come onnn a whole month was long enough!" My mother chuckles as she picks at her food

"Mhmm okay mom well I'm full thanks again for making my favorite mealll!!"I smile as I walk upstairs, she made jambalaya.

"Ughh" I groan falling straight on my bed, I swear food Always knocks me the fuck outta better than any female could!!

I slow drift to sleep

"Nylah get ready for school!" My mom yelled from downstairs and I sighed

I took my bonnet off revealing my fresh retwist, I then put on a graphic tee and sum jeans, I also had some square diamond earrings on.

I put some Vaseline on my lips and smiled in the mirror, I'm so tired of these damn braces, I slip my shoes on.and slide my bookbag over my shoulder before meeting my mom downstairs.

"I packed u a lunch honey!" She smiled and handed me it as she grabbed her keys.

" Thank u mom" I smiled softly getting in the car and buckling my seatbelt as she started to drive away from home,I started out the window seeing all the other ppl, but where was she?

"Have a great day baby!" My mom kissed my forehead and watched me walk off before pulling off. The bell rang and I went to my class, there she was. An empty seat laid next to her

"Go ahead and take that seat dear!" The teacher said, she looked really young, young teachers da best. I took the seat next to her and my body was filled with excitement, i glanced at her and she rolled her eyes. She looked so good, a fresh cut with some stitch braids a few tattoos that went perfect with her dark brown skin.
