Mercan had once told Ateş that her wings felt broken and Ateş had told her that she could handle anything; that she was stronger than she thought. But the next thing he had said was something that always stayed with her which was that if in any situation she would feel overwhelmed then he will always be by her side and that he would become her wings.

"You can face anything."

"And when you can't. I'm here. I'll be your wings."

These were his exact words...so long back...

Now at this moment she needed him the most as she felt not only broken but fearful. She was bound, her legs and hands tied as she sat on the bed of a small cabin in the middle of a jungle. Nezir was in front of her, with a gun, spouting nonsense. He has lost his mind, it seemed.

"Mercan, my love, I will teach you how to love me. You will love me, I know that."

"Ateş is not the one for you, he has hurt you more than enough, now I will cherish you and make you happy."

Mercan was scared and for the first time in her life she felt hopeless, and a feeling of dread passed over her. Her hands had marks of struggle on her wrist and blood was oozing out of those marks.

"Nezir please understand, I don't love you, please let me go."

But he had no plans of doing that, he came closer to Mercan, closer to her face and grabbed her shoulders in a tight grip and said, "No, I am the best for you, I know that". She tried her level best to throw him off but all in vain as he was so much stronger than her.

"You are mine, always been mine but Ateş stole you from me. He has no right over what is mine. I can't see you with that man anymore."

Mercan protested, "I am not your possession...get away from me."

"You are my obsession, Mercan, my life and I can't wait anymore for you to divorce that bastard that is why I am going to make you mine now. Eventually you will also understand that I am better for you" Nezir started to lean in more. His face was now pressed against her hair. Mercan tried to push him off but he slammed her against the wall and trapped her.

One of his hands was on her shoulder and the other was now tracing her right arm, up and down. Mercan was sobbing now, totally helpless as she was not able to do anything to protect herself against this psychopath. His other hand was fisted in her hair now as he smelled the fragrance of her hair and closed his eyes. She tried to push him off by using her knee but he caught her mid-attack; his hands gripping her thighs.

"Don't struggle, my love. I won't harm you."

With that his hands started to feel her thighs also, his fingers were digging into her thighs; it was painful, and Mercan was so disgusted by his touch that she was shaking but could do nothing as she was trapped between him and the wall. She kept squirming in his iron grip, tears continuing to fall down her face but that man paid no heed to her cries or tears. He leaned down and spoke in her ear directly, "Seni Seviyorum" but Mercan turned her head away but this gave him access to her neck and his mouth started to descend lower and lower to her neck, where he rubbed his cheek against her. Nezir drew in a breath, inhaling her scent and groaned against her neck while his hands were moving higher along her thighs.

Mercan was crying loudly, trying everything to push him off of her and in her mind, she kept remembering Ateş. She didn't know if she would ever see him again. But she prayed for a miracle, just like the last time when she was sitting in the marriage hall with Nezir where Ateş had entered like a storm and saved her, even though it did not like saving back then.

She shut her eyes tightly in fear, misery and disgust as she felt Nezir's lips tracing her neck. But she only felt them for a minute or two because the next moment, the door to that cabin was kicked open with a loud noise. She opened her eyes to see the source of that loud bang.
