Checking In

Untitled Part 1

Staring at his computer screen, David realized it was not after two in the morning. He was on a business trip for work and had a long day ahead of him, but he knew he had to finish the final presentation, as his promotion depended on it.

David was a hard workingman who was thirty-one years old and had recently married the love of his life.

Leaning back in his chair he decided to double click on an icon on his computer and verified the hotel Wi-Fi was still connected. He always hated paying and using an Internet connection that wasn't his, fearing that somebody could be looking and seeing exactly what he was doing or what he had looked at previously when the shades were drawn and he believed nobody was looking.

As the connection opened, he clicked CONNECT on the window that appeared and instantly he was brought unto his home. He had cameras placed inside of his home along with outside, not for fear that his lovely bride was cheating on him, but so he could check on her and her child that he was about to adopt and finally would have the son he always dreamt of. Of course he still hoped that he would be able to have his own children with Jennifer, but that was all dependent on this presentation and his ability to provide a comfortable life for the two people that he loved.

He clicked on the arrow upon the window and he began to look from camera to camera. He was first shown the front door area, and then it went to the back yard and around the house, then to the living room and finally upon his room where his lovely wife was asleep in the bed. The summer had been hot, so she slept in a light t-shirt and underwear and a sheet instead of a blanket. The blanket was white and was only covering one of her legs as the other leg was atop of the blanket.

David looked at his wife, smiling to himself and wondering how he was so lucky to have found such a gorgeous woman that loved him back. As he smiled he noticed something below the bed move. At first he thought it was just his imagination, but slowly something began to move out from underneath the bed, as if slithering like a snake.

Not believing what he was seeing, he closed his eyes and rubbed them hard to where when he opened them his vision was fuzzy, but as they began to focus once again, what he had seen was now standing tall next to the bed. The creature seemed to glisten as if wet in the faint light that was protruding from outside as the color seemed to be of a dark greenish tint. The fingers were long and the tips didn't seem to end but continued to a long sharp point as the face turned towards the camera. It was now looking towards David, and it knew David was watching. The top of the creature had long hair that seemed to curl into what seemed like horns and the eyes were a milky white color that could be seen in the dark room as if glowing orbs were wandering around the room. The teeth were thin like sewing needles but matched the color of the skin and began to excrete a type of fluid. Where the nose of a human should be, there was nothing but a slight bump and nostrils could not be seen.

The creature stood nearly seven feet tall as the body looked almost human, but when David moved down to the feet, it seemed as if at the bottom instead of hooves or feet, it simply continued into the floor as if it had become a part of the floor itself.

David frozen by the creatures look tried to break free of the gaze, but he couldn't move. He wanted to reach for his phone, but it was across the room and he knew that there wasn't anything he could do but sit and watch what would happen next.

As if the creature knew that David had realized his own hopelessness and lack of power, he turned towards David's wife and bit into her legs with those horrific teeth. With a quick ripping notion the teeth came from it's mouth as Jennifer awoke and tried to scream. As the creature pulled away from her leg and looked at the camera with those horrific white eyes as a black fluid began to discreet from where the teeth had been.

Jennifer began to convulse as the teeth sank into her flesh and disappeared. David knew she had been poisoned as the creature smiled at the camera, enjoying what it was doing to David's love, David's wife.

Turning towards Jennifer the creature placed its sharp clawed hand at the bottom of her shin and it began to glow red, and slow it moved its claw up the shin, up towards the thigh and that is when the flesh began to melt away and part. Slowly the flesh melted away and the muscle began to show. Blood wasn't present as it seemed to be cauterizing the wound as it tore away the muscle, veins, arteries until finally the bone was present.

David now beginning to cry in his chair tried to look away from the screen, thinking this was a dream. He tried to scream for help but his mouth would not utter a single noise, and that is when the creature smiled again at the camera and those horrific teeth began to regrow inside of its mouth. It looked down at Jennifer and raised its hand above her chest, and with that, the teeth emerged from beneath her flesh and once they showed themselves, he began to twirl his hand in a slow clockwise formation and the teeth began to spin in circles.

In the beginning the holes were small, but as the creature began to spin its hand faster the holes got larger and blood began to spill forth from her torso. She was beginning to bleed from the mouth as eight teeth had begun tearing her torso apart. Slowly he creature began to slow down its hand, as she continued to convulse. David was pleading for him to just end her pain, as she should have been dead at this point or at least in a form of shock to where she couldn't feel what was happening. However, the creature was controlling her mind somehow, and due to this, she was still able to look at the camera with eyes of fear and despair. As if pleading with David to save her, but she knew and David knew that wasn't going to happen.

Jennifer lifted up her head and took a look at her ravaged body, and tried to scream out once more, to awake her son so he could escape. Sensing the end was near, she mouthed to David that she loved him as David was finally able to move one of his hands and touched the screen.

Sensing the love and emotion between the two, the screen raised its claws and slashed Jennifer across her beautiful angelic face. Her face began to sizzle and boil as if lava had been placed upon her face. Her body began to tremble with pain as her face slowly turned to a charred black and smoke arose from her face while the creature leaned in, inhaling the smoke and smiling to itself with its devilish grin.

David knew Jennifer was now dead, and the creature ran its fingers from the top of her head to the tip of her toes, and her body began to eat itself until there wasn't a trace of her left besides the blood soaked sheets that lye atop the empty mattress.

David now able to move tried to click on the button to look into his sons room, and when he looked up to see the creature, it was gone and David knew exactly where it had went. It had left to get their son, and when he clicked the arrow, the son was gone from his bed, but on the wall there was just one work scrolled across it. Something David had not seen since he was a child, at a time when his family was at the worst of times, a friend he once knew, Ferzlabob. He had come back for what he was promised all those many years ago, and it would not stop until he killed everything that David loves.
