The Kingdom of Helianthus is a prosperous and influential nation renowned for its abundant sunshine, golden fields, and deep reverence for the sun as a symbol of hope, life, and renewal. Its name is derived from the helianthus flower-the sunflower-which has become the kingdom's national emblem, representing unwavering loyalty and the pursuit of light even in the darkest times.
Ruled by the Sunweave royal family, Helianthus is a constitutional monarchy with a royal family beloved for its compassion and dedication to its people. The kingdom places great importance on education, artistry, and magical research, particularly in fields related to healing, light magic, and agriculture. Its capital Sunnia is known for its white stone architecture, sprawling sunflower gardens, and magnificent palace overlooking the surrounding countryside.
Despite its peaceful reputation, Helianthus bears a tragedy that has shaped its modern history.
Sixteen years ago, the infant Crown Prince Elian Sunweave vanished without a trace from the royal palace. Despite an extensive search that lasted for years, neither the prince nor his kidnapper was ever found. With no evidence of his fate, the royal family refused to declare him deceased, continuing to hope that their son would one day return home.
Unknown to the kingdom, the prince had been abducted by Gauthiel, a commoner consumed by an obsession with achieving eternal youth. Believing ancient magic hidden within the royal bloodline could grant him immortality, Gauthiel kidnapped the infant prince and disappeared beyond the kingdom's borders, raising Elian in isolation while concealing his true identity. As the years passed, Elian grew up unaware that he was the missing heir to Helianthus, believing the man who had taken him to be nothing more than his guardian.
Even after all these years, the disappearance of the crown prince remains Helianthus' greatest unsolved mystery. His likeness is still displayed throughout the kingdom during annual remembrance ceremonies, and countless stories, rumors, and legends have emerged surrounding the "Lost Prince of the Sun." Though many citizens have reluctantly accepted that the prince may never return, the royal family has never abandoned hope, believing that as long as no proof of his death exists, the light of Helianthus' future has yet to be extinguished.
