- how they met
caitlin had been travelling for what felt like an eternity. she had spent weeks jumping from planet to planet, drifting through the galaxy with no real destination in mind.
she was exhausted.
after another long day of travelling, caitlin found herself desperately craving a drink. as her ship approached the nearest planet, she decided that she might as well stop there for the night.
after landing, caitlin followed the sound of music coming from a nearby bar and as she pushed open the door, the first thing she noticed was how crowded the bar was.
then she was her.
a blonde woman was dancing in the middle of the room, completely lost in the music. she moved with an effortless confidence, laughing as she danced as if she didn't have a single worry in the universe. the colourful lights reflected off her face as she spun around with the music.
caitlin stopped in the doorway for a moment, watching her.
there was something about her that caitlin couldn't explain.
the woman caught caitlin staring.
instead of looking away, she smiled.
caitlin quickly looked down, slightly embarrassed before making her way towards the bar. she ordered a drink and tried to ignore the fact that she could still feel the woman's eyes on her.
a few moments later, the blonde woman walked over and stopped next to caitlin.
"you're not much of a dancer, are you?" she asked playfully.
caitlin glanced at her and smiled. "im more of a sit-and-drink kind of person."
the woman laughed moving to sit besides caitlin.
"im kara."
"caitlin."
while neither of them knew it yet, but their chance meeting was about to change both of their lives forever.
