In The Parallel Universe

Good Morning

The birds chirping outside the window of her bedroom as a flash of sunlight pierces through the curtains. May walks up with a smile on her face. It was her first day of her high school sophomore year and she could not be enough excited.

"Honey, are you wake? It's 8 o clock. Hurry up! You're late for school", Mrs. Celine as walks into her room and she grabs her clothes off from the laundry basket.

"Yes mom coming down in 5", May says as she rolls her body from side ways position to lying on her back. She keeps staring at the ceiling, with a smile.

"What should I wear?", she mumbles to herself, as she bites her lips. Her phone blinks and a text notification pops up. She rolls over to grab her cellphone to check who texted her.

"SOPHOMORE YEAR ALREADY GURL!! See you in 10. Can't wait. Send me your outfit snaps", the text read.

"See you in 10 bestie. Love you!", May texts back.

She rolls her blanket off her body and sits. She slowly heads towards her closet, picking out a jeans and a full sleeve, sunset orange coloured tshirt. Her short hair highlighting her collarbone and her face glowing even with those slight freckles covering her cheekbones couldn't do justice. She walks towards her bathroom to get freshen up and then goes back infront of her dressing table to get ready for school. As she does her hair, she could hear the horns of Raven's jeep from miles away and parking it in her driveway.

As she gets dressed, she hears Raven talking to her mother and eventually footsteps of her leading up to May's bedroom. Her bedroom door unlocks and slams open and there she was.

Raven, May's bestfriend.

"Didn't I tell you to send me snaps!!?" And why aren't you done yet!! We have school in like 20 mins", Raven yells as she gently walks, folding May's clothes while placing them on the side of the bed. Her bed was messy with the clothes she was not going to wear.

"Sorry Rav. I just woke up late. Couldn't sleep much last night", May replies back as she puts her mascara in hurry and turns to look and talk to Raven.

"Still having those dreams huh!", Raven asks as she looks at May with distress and adoration.

"Girl, it feels so real," May says,
"It's feels like I'm physically there and I don't know why is this him that I keep seeing all the time"

Raven walks upto May and hugs her, comforting her. As she keeps holding May's shoulder on to her arms, she pats May's head,

"Maybe you are just sick of being home and miss being the nerd you are. Once you get busy with studies maybe you won't have these dreams anymore. Now get your ass up for the best year of our lives so that we can have the craziest and best memories of our lives. We are going to have the best adventure and live the way we want", Raven says as she pushes away and looks at May while holding her arms with both of her hand.

"Sorry mom, I have to go, already very late for school. Love you mom. And also I'm just gonna eat the sandwiches in the car",Says May as she rushes down to the dining space and grabbing and talking rushed bites in her sandwich and then hugging her mother.

"Don't forget your lunch honey. And have a great day. Love you baby", says Mrs Celine as she kisses May on her cheeks.

"Bye Mrs Celine!!" Says Raven as she greets goodbye in hurry.

As those girls fast walking towards the ride and hoping on the jeep seats, Mrs Celine feels emotional and overwhelmed.

"I wish your father was alive to watch you grow my baby May", she mumbles to herself as she wipes the tear off from her face to hide her emotions from May.
