In every trinity of women there are three specific characteristics that contribute to each member; one who emits light and brings unity, another who declares war and stirs chaos, and finally the third who bestows balance and wisdom throughout the group.
Together we build the walls of hades.
The first woman in our group is Morgana. She is our wisdom, loyal to a fault and impossibly sarcastic. It will take years to find her soft spots, but once she lets you in, she will never let you go.
At a staggering 21, Morgana is the eldest of our peachy regime and trust me it shows with all her smart remarks and "holier than thou's". non the less I have grown quite accustomed to her in the past three years.
Then we have, Destiny, our sweet angel, the kindest person I have ever lay eyes upon. Obsessed with the colour pink, though I believe it to be a horrendous colour, she loves all things: puppies, butterflies, and rainbows.
Almost as though untouched by the bitter world and all its impurities, and that is how it will stay. With all her childish joy, I have become quite protective of her.
Of both of them really.
Finally, we have me. chaos, I isolate myself from the disgusting habits of society for fun.
It wasn't that bad growing up, my mother had passed away after my birth, putting a small damper on my presents. The children at school seemed to stay clear of me or just down right annoy me until I told them to leave.
The worst of it all was probably my brothers, rats and taddle tales, the worse kind of sibling. Don't think the ever forgave me for taking their mother, not like I asked for forgiveness, but oh well. Always getting into my business and ruining my games.
They were a tag team together, Silas and Larson, only two years apart, though it seemed in the six years between me and Larson, the both of them conspired against having another sibling, no, they just agreed to hate me.
Nevertheless, I decided to entertain myself with another purpose; attention. Whether good or bad I didn't care. All I wanted was for there to always be eyes on me.
That is how I found myself here; on the biggest stage in America.
11 hours from home.
Singing my soul out, or the soul I have carefully critiqued and designed to get away with all the havoc I cause, to thousands of people, in our last song of the night.
My solo.
It felt like I was dreaming. Beneath me the music pulsed like a heartbeat, carrying each note through my blood and out my throat. Each symphony encapsulating the audience as they roar and cheer for me. all of them wish they could be closer, hands reaching for any sense to hold onto. All of them begging and pleading to get the chance to stand on this stage and sing with me.
But they can't.
And they never will.
The girls and I have seen many of auditions for a new member but no matter their tears or jerry's incessant whining we never yield.
We are quite content being just the three of us.
Why fix something that's not broken?
Phone flashlights orbit me, taking me in, beholding me. desperately trying to consume enough of me to be satisfied.
But they are gluttonous.
My steps find each beat, its muscle memory now. Toss my hair and gaze into that camera, wink into that other one.
The crowd all but looses their ability to think, screaming and singing alone, Morgana and destiny find our last harmony of the show somewhere behind me, as we drop down onto one knee and bow our heads. The lights cut out.
