"Hello." I managed to say after clumsily tripping over the door. "I uh.. I just got here.. and uh... your mom said it was okay to come up...."

"And you didn't think of knocking." he asked harshly. I was kind of hurt, but then again, i was intruding.

"I kncoked.. uh three times. And i just peeked open the door... and uh.. i'm sorry. I'll go now..." i said awkwardly getting up and walking back towards the door. Suddenly, Justin walked up to me and put his hand on my arm to stop me.

I turned to face him and for a seocnd he just looked at me. Then opened his mouth to say, "See you later. " as he opened the door wider for me.

I gave him a what-the-hell face an dwalke dout the door. His mom was in the hallway.

"Oh dear, I forgot to tell you he was filming. Maybe one day he'll let you be in the videos." she told me. Videos? What is she talking about.?

"Videos?" i asked. But maybe I shouldn't have, she looked at me with a confused expression.

"Didn't he tell you? I thought he did. He makes youtube videos." she said.

"Oh right those videos. Yeah, he told me." i lied. She thought we were close, i should pretend he told me that, i guess. I quickly changed the subject so she wouldn't ask anymore questions about that.

"where can I put my stuff?" i asked.

"Oh yes of course, dear," she said leading me down the hall. At least our rooms weren't next to each others. "here you go. Your parents are getting the guest room right across."

"Alright, thanks. I'll start unpacking." i told her. She was about to leave the room, then she turned around and said, "I'm glad you're back. Justin has really missed you. He might not tell you that because 'he's a boy' but he has. I see it everyday." and with that she left.

I don't know whether she said that to make me feel comfortable, because I was completely not comfortable. Or maybe it was the truth. And judging by how he just acted, i don't think it was the second one.

After unpacking for about the entire afternoon, Karen had called us down for dinner. I'd barely eaten all day, besides the little lunch I had in between packing so I rushed down the stairs, careful of not faling.

I walked around until i found a dining room and took a seat in between my mom and karen. It was a round shaped table.

Karen was passing around the food when Justin came in and sat between our dads.

When karen was finished passing around plates, everyone started digging in. It was awkwardly quiet of cours,e but then my mom started "So Justin, how've you adapted to a new high school?"

I looked over at Justin, to see him looking directly at me. I lowered my head and kept eating. Then he spoke to my mom, "It's fine. It wasn't hard considering all the freshmans were new, but eigth grade year was hard. everyone knew everyone so I didn't fit in well."

"Oh good." she said, "So you've made friends at school?"

"No not really. Not at school anyways." he started. "More like online."

"Really, isn't that dangerous!" my mom said, oh mom. Be quiet.

"Yeah, didn't Delia tell you" Jusitn makes videos online and he does it with his friends." Karen said.

"Mom..." Justin said embarrassed. He started blushing adorably, and putting his head down. Wait, did i just say adorably?

"No she didn't. Actually." my mom said.

"Oh okay. well he does. You should see his uh.. page?" Karen said. "No, my channel mom." Justin said.

"Yes that, he even makes money on it." karen said.

"Oh really. Delia you should do that as a job." my mom encouraged.

"yeah I was telling Delia how she could be in one of Justin's videos." Karen said," i think that'd be fun. Right Justin?" She looked over at him and he shrugged.

"I guess. She doesn't really seem to me as a kind of person that would though, Right Delia?" he said. The way he said my name brought back memories of my childhood.

"Oh yeah,  not me. I'm awkward." i said, oh great. Now he thinks i'm awkward. "I mean.. like i get awkward on camera."

"yeah..." he said.

The rest of dinner was our moms pretty much planning our future and our dads talking about sports while we stayed quiet.

After dinner, Karen volunteered Jusitn and I to clean the dishes. We picked up all the plates and took them over to the kitchen.

"So Justin..." i said, "You make videos now?" trying to start conversation.

"Delia..." he said. "Listen." He puts the plate he was cleaning and looked directly at me. "Heres the thing. I don't get you. i leave forever to the other side of the country. And you stop speaking to me. I call and your mom said you'd call me back, which your rarely did. and if you actually did, you would be awkward and distant. You wouldn't try to make conversation. You stopped skyping me too. You pushed me out of your life and now you come back and want to act like its all okayyyyy!?" he whisper yells so the adults don't hear us. "Please. Just stop trying. We both  know you don't want to be here."

"Excuse me." i said.

"You know. I get how it was hard for you, me leaving. But you could have made an effort to reach me. You could have visited. You still had a life, you didn't have to change schools and make new friends. I did. I had to change everything. And the one thing that mattered to me didn't want to talk to me, so i moved on. But only becuase you did." and with that he stormed upstairs to his room.

What. Just hard for him. Are you kidding me? I finished the dishes angrily and fast. Then I went upstairs quickly, I went to open his door and it was locked. Then i heard the shower running.

I went into my room and just knocked out. I couldn't deal with this stress so late.
