The katseye girls lined up in a straight formation backstage. The deafening sound of Eyekons shouting and cheering, it felt like home.
It was soundcheck, their favorite, where they could dress themselves up from their own wardrobe.
Their director called, "1, 2, 3, you guys are up"
One by one they went up the stairs, Yoonchae was shaking slightly, partly because she had given Megan her coat earlier, and the New York winter winds were not playing.
Manon, ever energetic, was up front. She hopped onto the stage and went up front, smiling and greeting fans, getting gifts from some baby eyekons, "We love you Manon!!" They screamed. "I love you guys more!" she replied
Manon turned to Daniela, her voice dropping to a whisper such that only both of them could hear, saying, "See that? They love me" Daniela rolled her eyes scoffing, "Yeah right." but she smirked despite herself.
On the other end of the stage, Yoonchae was shivering slightly while conversating with a Korean Eyekon, "사랑해요" (I love you)
Yoonchae replied, "저도 사랑해요. 와주셔서 감사합니다." (love you too! Thanks for coming)
Megan stayed slightly behind Yoonchae, watching her. While Lara was singing 'M.I.A' chaotically into the mic, making the eyekons scream.
Sophia was dancing along, free.
Their director spoke through their headsets, "Okay guys, interaction time's over, give the fans what the came for!"
Daniela nodded slowly, Lara stopped, halfway in the chorus and groaned, Sophia stopped dancing and simply gave a nod, Megan kept watching Yoonchae, Manon simply smirked as Yoonchae fell into position center stage, leaving the fan thee mid-conversation.
"죄송합니다" (Sorry) She mouthed to the fan, who simply smiled, understanding.
The song started.
Song by song, they went through the night.

They performed in their sweatpants and baggy shirts, Manon was styling her curls in the corner.
Daniela shot her a teasing look, approaching her slowly, "We here to sing or to style our hair?" she said eyeing the curling gel.
"Do you want some or not?" Manon shot back.
Dani paused, running a hand through her curls, "Ugh, you're so annoying." she said snatching the gel. "You love me for it" Manon smirked again.
Dani simply rolled her eyes.
She styled hers as well, giving Manon a look that clearly said 'You're not getting this back by the way' and Manon smiled.
At the end, they posed for a minute before leaving the stage breathing heavily, Daniela screamed before stepping off
"Me encanta Nueva York" (I love New York)
The crowd replied with screams.
They all went into their shared dressing room for drinks.
Manon got a milkshake, Daniela grabbed a cheesecake, Megan found some Chinese takeout, Lara got spring rolls, Yoonchae got ramen and Sophia lunged at everything left on the table.
"I'm starving!" she called out, munching on everything.
"I can tell, you might as well inhale it all, it'll save you more time" Manon said, deadpan.
