The school breeze felt a bit chilly today. A locker slammed shut as students endlessly laughed and chartered in the school hallway, it was already loud enough but for levi it was more than loud. He can hear more than stuff coming out of their mouths.
He could hear thoughts echoing from multiple rooms and businesses he doesn't wanna intrude on and he could basically figure out everyone's deepest darkest secrets. It was strange. How could some possibly know what someone is thinking of?
"You'll never be able to guess who it is!" A blonde girl yells out to her friend as her friend desperately tries to guess who she could be thinking of. She was thinking about that boy she met in her science laboratory class who was a year older than him. And levi knew instantly
So called ordinary boy Levi Ackerman possessed abilities only one could ever desire. A more simple term is a psychic. He could do anything he wanted because it all bent to his will, but he didn't want for that He just wanted to be someone without those abilities. He felt like he was being unfair to the game and it wasn't fair enough.
Being psychic isn't easy, you deal with people's random intrusive thoughts that even you don't wanna hear. Just because he possesses extraordinary powers doesn't make him a better or good person. In fact he hates it. It bothered him so much because he practically knows everything. Whether it was where you lived or what was the name of your next door neighbor he practically knew more than you did.
But besides that despite him being able to learn within seconds he takes time to actually learn and try to become normal. It's not like he hates being psychic. Well he probably does but it feels unfair to everyone else who works so hard.
After class he grabbed his bag from his locker hearing the rushing of students grabbing their bag in order to catch to their school bus as others chatted endlessly in the hallways laughing at minor things. He passed by his friends. Hange and erwin.
They were the only few friends he felt a bit connected towards. Hange mentions the 3 of them should head to the park to hangout but levi said it was stupid and he'd rather not. Erwin had more important businesses to attend after all he is part of the student council
As he was passing by the streets wanting to go to his favorite tea shop to get his regular tea, somewhere in between the alleyway he sees this high school girl as she tries to get the pieces of papers scattered away from her bag. She looked like she went through some sort of trouble since her face had scratches and some red spots where it looked like bruises.
He couldn't help but stare cause her mind was completely empty, he couldn't hear or listen to her thoughts as it felt completely blank. He didn't notice he probably was staring too much and he probably looked judgmental but he couldn't get things straight. He noticed she was probably bullied but as he tried to step forward she walked past him running away as she hurriedly carried her bag and papers away.
"Tch, shouldn't have ever gotten involved anyways" he scoffed thinking it was just some inconvenience but he couldn't help but feel bad. He probably didn't know what was going on and it bothered him for the rest of the day. He can't help but think if he should do something and he might think something bad was gonna happen. After all he is a psychic. He should use his powers for the greater good.
As he got home and turned on the news wanting to be updated on what happened today he saw on the news report : "A seventh grader high school girl was found to have jumped down a river and was found a few hours later. The body was identified to be RJ Evergarden."
A brief pause for levi because he felt as if he knew that face. He knows her of course he does. She was the girl from the alleyway that he saw. She was the one who got beaten up. And he didn't even try to help her. Gosh what an idiot he is. He felt so bad that he didn't help her but something is telling him that he should try to help her - but should he? Suicide commits are most common and usually he doesn't remember stopping to rewind back in time to prevent a suicide. It's as if something is telling him that he should just do it.
He should help her.
He's gonna rewind back to the time where he saw her and whatever drove her to commit such an act he wants to help. Because it's the right thing as someone who has the ability to help people. And besides. There was something that made her seem important.
