The Outworlder
The stars were never meant to be crossed by ordinary men.
Yet somehow, Ace had crossed them.
He awoke beneath a crimson sky, his body aching as if he had fallen through the universe itself. Jagged black mountains stretched toward the heavens, while rivers of glowing blue light flowed silently across the barren land. Strange creatures circled overhead, their wings shimmering like glass. Nothing looked familiar.
Ace slowly stood, brushing dust from his clothes. The last thing he remembered was looking up at the stars from Earth. He had whispered a simple prayer before going to bed.
"God... I don't know where my life is going. Please guide me."
Now he was somewhere impossible.
He checked his pockets. His phone was dead. His watch had stopped. The only thing that still worked was the silver cross hanging around his neck-a gift from his mother before she passed away.
"This can't be Earth," Ace whispered.
A voice echoed behind him.
"No, Outworlder."
Ace spun around.
Standing several feet away was a tall figure wearing silver armor covered in glowing symbols. His skin was pale blue, and his eyes burned like golden suns.
"You are in Elyndor."
"Where is that?"
"The place between worlds."
"I don't belong here."
The stranger nodded.
"No... you don't."
The armored guardian introduced himself as Kael.
According to him, Elyndor was one of countless worlds connected by invisible gateways hidden throughout creation. Most beings never discovered them. But sometimes... someone crossed without permission.
People like Ace.
"They call us Outworlders," Kael explained.
"Can you send me back?"
Kael's expression darkened.
"The gate that brought you here has been destroyed."
Ace felt his heart sink.
"So... I'm trapped?"
"Not forever."
Hope flickered inside him.
"There is another gate."
"Where?"
Kael looked toward the distant mountains.
"The Heart of Creation."
Their journey began the next morning.
Every step revealed wonders beyond imagination.
Floating forests drifted through the sky.
Crystal oceans reflected stars that shone during daylight.
Cities hung upside down beneath islands suspended in the air.
Yet beauty hid danger.
Monstrous creatures hunted travelers.
Machines abandoned by an ancient civilization still wandered the deserts.
Storms of pure energy erased anything they touched.
More than once, Ace almost died.
Each night, fear crept into his heart.
