SMG4 was blindly running in a direction that he hopes will get him out of the Mushroom Kingdom so from there, he can hope that these new, monstrous and violent creatures won't follow them out. He didn't even get time to pack because they had to leave so suddenly. No one knows how the Moonbloods came to be other than rumors of it starting from a failed experiment. These supposed experiments ended up creating something called 'Chief Moonbloods' and Four saw it with his own eyes.

"If I get bitten by one of the Chiefs, I'll get turned into one of those mindless creatures too," he panted, motivating himself to keep going forward even though his whole body hurt from running for who knows how long. Eventually, he allowed himself to be able to take a quick rest, hoping that he might've lost any Moonbloods that were following him.

As he breathed heavily, he looked around at his surroundings, wishing he hadn't gotten separated from his friends when that Moonblood attacked them. He guesses all his friends are together but he's alone and whispers to himself, tears in his eyes, "I hope once we escape the Mushroom Kingdom, we'll be able to find each other again." He was in the middle of a quiet forest, wondering how in the world this could've possibly happened and if he'll ever get the chance to return to the Showgrounds.

"I feel bad for all those people who've gotten killed by those things or turned into them," he says. "I hope I make it out but even if I don't, I at least hope my friends do." Deciding he had enough of his short break, he stood up again, since he had been sitting on the grass, and was about to start running again when he heard something burst from the trees.

He didn't even get time to react before something bit his right shoulder hard and he let out a loud scream, scaring the Moonblood away but not before giving him a nice slash on his cheek and on his left wrist. He collapsed onto the ground, his hat falling off his head in the process as he felt himself bleeding out.

This is where I die, without even getting to say goodbye to my friends. I hope they at least have been able to make it out safely, he thought, before he closed his eyes and felt himself slip away.
