"Sophie!"
As soon as the gleaming gates were open, Biana crashed her into a tight hug which made both of them topple over in the soft grass. Sophie giggled when the edges of Biana's simple violet gown turned dirty brown. Not that she seemed to care.
"Long time no see!" Biana finally let go, giving Sophie a hand to help her up. "I really missed you!"
"Me too!" Sophie's legs wobbled as she struggled to stand up, taking a firm grip of Biana.
Biana was right. Foxfire was in vacation, and all of them were busy with assignments from the Black Swan. It has been more than a week and a half since they hung out together.
"Here comes Foster," A familiar voice called out, and Sophie whipped around to see Keefe, Fitz, Dex, and Wylie.
"Hey," Sophie had a very hard time not to blush as she met Keefe's ice blue eyes. And his bonus smirk made her heart flutter.
Then came Fitz.
His teal eyes, just like his sister, were breathtaking. And the small smile he flashed Sophie was worth a movie.
But the tension between them was unbreakable, and the fact that he was her ex made want to scratch her arms, punch the nearby trees. Do something.
"Come on, let's go inside!" Biana insisted, breaking Sophie's thoughts, as she grinned, grabbing Sophie's hands and gently pulling her to the heart of Everglen. "I can't wait to show you the surprise,"
"What surprise?" Sophie, Keefe, Dex, Wylie all asked together.
Biana pressed a finger on her lips for the universal shhh sign as they entered the big house, flashing in and out of sight as she swished through the trees.
The sweet smell of butter and chocolate and bread and pasteries filled the whole house, and warm sunshine made the tables and chandeliers shine in every shades of a rainbow. Everglen was beautiful, just like her photographc memory remembered. But nothing different. Yet.
"Come on up!" Biana called as she ran up the winding staircase. "The surprise is upstairs! And you guys would LOVE it."
Everyone quickly climbed the stairs up to the second floor, where all the guest rooms were.
"Listen," Biana jumped up and down. "We got you guys a room each. And guess what the gnomes helped me and Fitz prepare!"
The halls of guest room each had a name now.
With silver, swirly letters.
Biana opened the one right next to the stairs with an excited smile.
Wylie, the letters said.
Rainbow shades of lights flooded out, and when they entered...
Oh wow.
The room looked as if it was dipped in beautiful prism, with warm sunlight reflecting the shimmery walls. But it wasn't the kind of too bright, annoying lights.
It was hard to explain, but they.... kind of melted into the room.
Star and moon shaped crystals dangled from the ceilings, creating soft, bell-like music which echoed quietly around the room.
"I-- This--" Wylie's words were gone.
Biana grinned.
"Okay, this is the best thing I've ever seen," Wylie mumbled at last, his dark blue eyes still wandering the beautiful room. "It makes me... relax. I never knew I could relax in light. It was always something what I had to take control over. Manipulate."
He swished his hands, and the crystal moons and stars hanging on the ceiling reflected off a soft blue glow, making the whole room shine in swirls of blue and silver and white.
"Wow," everyone gasped.
Wylie sat on his double poster bed. "Okay I'm staying here. For now."
Biana smirked. "Yeah, and someone told me this room wasn't Wylie's style,"
Fitz looked away.
They all gasped and smiled as Biana introduced room after room. A nice, clean, silver room for Dex. A dark, cold, but cozy room for Tam. A room with pretty waterfalls and sunlight for Linh. (Though the twins quickly hailed them to let them know that they would be late for the sleepover and they were 'previewing' their rooms, as Biana says) Everyone laughed when Keefe complained about his too clean, too cozy, too 'empathic' room. Biana kicked his ankles for revenge. Pretty hard.
Sophie smiled and hugged Biana as hard as she could when her room smelled like panakes and butter and chocolate, with a miniature of the panakes in the middle of the room while the light purple, pink, and blue glow shined her room.
Soon Linh, Marella, Tam and Maruca arrived from training and they regrouped in Biana's room after quick showers.
"So, everyone knows why we're here in my room," Biana exchanged excited glances with the girls. "Make over time!"
Sophie had a very hard time not to groan.
So did the boys.
"We're going out for base quest," Fitz rolled his eyes as he stood up.
"Yeah, but you're next after the girls." Biana smiled casually.
The boys all ignored her.
"Right with you, fitzy," Keefe grinned as he looked around the room. "Anyone else?"
All the boys raised their hands.
Biana clutched Sophie's wrists so that she couldn't raise her hands. Sophie sighed softly.
"Okay base quest it is! And what about the winners owe the losers a dare?"
"Definitely not," Tam and Fitz growled.
Tam flipped his bangs.
Fitz ran a hand through his hair impatiently.
Dex wrinkled his periwinkle eyes.
Wylie scratched his dark skin.
"Scared?" Keefe flashed his trademark smirk and Sophie's heart fluttered at it. Then she rolled her eyes at herself.
So off the boys went down the stairs, arguing about the rules.
"Perfect!" Biana rubbed her hands together, then reached for her biggest, shiniest make up bag.
"Girl, You know that your makeup style doesn't fit me, right?" Marella asked, weaving braids through her blond hair because she untied them for having a shower.
"That's what you think." Biana side eyed Marella as she opened the bag.
All kinds of lip gloss, foundation, mascara (seriously? Biana?) and make up products Sophie couldn't recognize were shown in display.
Linh and Maruca gasped. But not the excited gasps, but the what-the-hell-is-all-this-and-what-do-you-want-with-us gasps.
Sophie didn't gasp, of course. All she wanted to do was play base quest. Or something else than makeover.
It was going to be a looooonng night.
