A powerful force could be felt. It felt like others' judgemental nonsense would go away. It felt like this powerful friend pulled all attackers off you. It felt like a safe haven.

Thunder wasn't used to this. It was new to him to be seen as a part of a group, not an outsider.

He had learned from birth he was a simple rogue, who worked together with a bunch of alley-mates to survive. Life wasn't a dream full of sunshine and rainbows, it was harsh and bitter.

Thunder yawned when he woke up. His black and white fur was dirty. He didn't bother washing it more than once every four weeks. What was the point, rogues are outsiders? He lived in an alley.

That sensation he had felt earlier, what was it? How could he do it again? What did he need to sacrifice?

He shook his head.

That didn't matter.

"Today's your turn." A German shepherd walked up to him.

"Alright, Storm." He said.

He stood up.

"Want any help?" The shepherd asked.

"Nah, I'll be fine." He replied.

"You don't look fine." A voice said from behind.

"Ah, it'll be alright, Alle." Thunder chuckled, a great Pyrenese nodded.

"A few ticks won't kill me." He finished.

Thunder arrived in a crowded area.

Tourists roamed the place. Few even acknowledged him. Those that did were excited, but returned to being hesitant after they saw his tick-infested body.

Thunder didn't care.

He snuck up on a vendor, then sweeped in when he was handing over a carrot-filled bag over.

He ran back to the alley, with no one even remotely close behind him.

"Look what I got." Thunder muffled, with his mouth full.

"That's great!" Salara, a bulldog said.

A group of 10 dogs joined in as they feasted on stolen carrots.

"These taste so much better than the ones from yesterday."

When Thunder was asleep, that feeling returned.

No more worries, just his magical world around him.

He was surrounded by beautiful trees that, for his care, could be as big as a giant. For all he saw was better than what he had.

"What is this?" Thunder asked.

When he woke up, food had been served already. Everyone had finished eating. Tomatoes were today's (stolen) dish.

"Ah, so no one even bothers waking me up?" Thunder said.

"I was going to, but then figured I needed to get some proteins in." Alessandro said.

"What are proteins?" Thunder asked. Alessandro was the closest thing thunder had to a friend.

"Don't worry." Alessandro replied.

That same night, Thunder was back there.

The beautiful atmosphere, that feeling of belonging. He had found it.
