this person is going to take place in the 90s-2000s instead of 60s because that's easier for me. lacey had moved to a nice house in the neighborhood only a few months prior and was always romanticizing her life, but to her dismay the park she used t...
I have always been into getting up with the sunrise, I felt like I was in a movie. That's how I am with most things. Lucky for me I get to indulge in it by having wealthy parents in a small town. I up and took a shower before getting dressed

(the outfit)
When I was ready I grabbed my book and left to the park. I was nearly there when I'd remembered that the park was closed for construction. it's so sad they would destroy a botanical garden to add in an extra swings et. I headed to the backup last resort I've been using lately. there was an old baseball field with bleachers that I sat on. While I read I head the group of boys playing and screaming at eachother like usual.
I was perfectly fine when I saw they'd noticed me, it took them long enough I guess since it'd been three days. I stuck my nose in my book and hoped they'd leave me alone. My hopes were quickly struck down as I noticed a voice and a crowd of kids my age infront of me
"Shells and silver fish? what kinda book is that?" a heavier kid with red-ish hair asked. I sighed and lifted my head.
"it says Shel Silverstien, actually. and it's the author. do you not read?" I asked, sound more agitated then I meant to. "Sorry." I apologized before they got the chance to call me out
"No one actually reads for fun unless they think they're mysterious" a new kid, this time a short one with glasses speaks up "I could entertain you much easier"
Gross. "No thank you" I attempted to stay polite
they all laughed at me and one more tanned boy spoke up "Hey squints, leave her alone, obviously you ain't in her league" he teased his friend, and I think me too, poking fun at my formal replies "now why you so serious smarty? Can't stand to have fun every once in a while"
I really didn't want to talk to these guys right now. they were funny, sure, but I wanted to finish reading this as soon as possible so I could put it on my shelf again. I couldn't stand to put an unfinished book with my finished ones. it was so unorganized
"I mean I was having fun. I was trying to finish this book." I saw in a bit of a mumble.
"Let me see" the tanned boy took the book out of my hand and read the page I was on "a light plugging into the sun? that can't happen"
I couldn't help but laugh at his statement "I know. She'll Silverstien is a poet who writes silly poems and puts them into a book. nothing in this actually happened."
He gave the book back "whatever. if you aren't to busy reading we were gonna head to the pool. care to join us?"
My parents wouldn't care and I had a few cute swimsuits so I agreed and went to my house to change into a swimsuit. when I came back out the boys were waiting and they saw my house and me. I decided to take a book I have two of to the pool in case I wanted to read so I didn't risk losing a book
"wow Richie, you are loaded!" the one they called ham yelled
"I have a name"
"well we didn't catch it" the tanned one replied
"lacey" I didn't want to seem rude but I hadn't caught his name either "yours?"
"benny. So, lacey, can we get going now?" He asked rhetorically as I nodded and we all headed for the pool.
When we arrived they all got in the pool. I sat on the edge of the pool in the area they were just watching and answering the questions they had. the conversation was flowing and I started to warm up to the group. I would be the first to admit they were pretty funny.
"hey aren't you hot?" benny asked sitting next to me
"Yeah, a bit" I sighed. looking at the water by my legs.
He pushed me into the pool without giving me a second to think
I shrieked just a little as I fell in and my hair got wet "hey!" I yelled as I came up. I just knew my mascara was running and my hair was flattened "what the hell was that for??" I asked still shocked
"You said you were hot, I was helping!" He defended I huffed and wiped my cheeks with my hand to get any smudged mascara off.
"Awe is lacey upset her makeup smudged?" Yeah yeah asked condescendingly
"Yeah. I am. I didn't even get a chance to take pictures while my hair was dry and my mascara was on." I huffed
"you look fine, why do you need pictures anyways?" benny asked, still on the ledge he pushed me from. I reached for my bag to get my camera and instead pulled his arm and made him fall in the water too. I laughed as the water splashed "hey!" He said. but he was laughing too. There goes staying formal I guess, but my parents wanted me to make friends anyways.
