...

It was black, no ground or walls, nothing. Chase opened his eyes and found himself
standing in somewhere white and endless, the gritted floor tiles shows exactly how long it was.

His stomach twisted. *What the hell is going on?*.

He pushed aside the thought and decided to walk. He continued and continued until his leg ached so badly. He wanted to turn around but there's no exit, so he just kept walking forward hoping to see something or at least someone.

This whole thing is infinite, no matter how far he walked or run, it looked the same from where he started. Then he saw a drop of blood. A few, actually.

He stopped upon seeing them. *Okay this is getting really suspicious*. The German Shepherd wanted to scream but he couldn't, like he never had a voice to begin with.

He touched his mouth, it felt like it was sealed shut.

Then the German Shepherd noticed a trail of more blood from the corner of his eye. He followed the trail and found a body leaning on the wall from afar. He couldn't see who it was.

This made his stomach twist even more painfully.

Still he went to see what it was.

It was longer than expected but he managed. And when he saw who it was, his heart sank to the floor.

It was **Ryder** leaning on the wall, bloodied, face covered. Chase bolted to him, desperately tried to wake him up, hoping Ryder was just playing a trick with Chase. Nothing.

Chase's breathing got quicker and quicker, he saw more blood, he looked forward.

Everyone.

Skye, Marshall, Zuma, Rubble, even Rocky.

Are scattered on the floor, wall and everywhere, bloodied dead.

Chase felt his mind go dizzy, his vision was blurred by the tears in his eyes. His heart pounded so hard he couldn't breathe like he ran a thousand miles.

The German Shepherd vision spun, the bright white void suddenly went distorted like a television, the last thing he saw was Rocky and Marshall.

....

Chase shot up from his bunk, gasping for air, tears soaking his pillow. The German Shepherd looked around the dorm. Everyone was asleep. Alive.

Unlike in his dreams.

Once he finally calmed down he leaned on the bed frame. Marshall was sleeping peacefully above Chase, the Dalmatian shifted softly, like nothing in this world is wrong.

Skye and Rubble were asleep across Chase and Marshall's bunk bed. Zuma and Rocky's bunk was facing the window.

Moonlight soaked through the windows. It was peaceful.

Maybe it was a nightmare. Chase sighed, feeling a bitter taste in his saliva.

*Maybe water will calm me down.* He thought to himself as he got out of his bed and walked out of the dorm.

He grabbed a glass of tap water and went up the elevator to the top of the Lookout.

The elevator door slid open and he noticed a figure outside the balcony. He already knew who it is.

The figure was playing a guitar softly, the one Chase had always heard before going to bed as a kid.

"Ryder."

Ryder turned around upon hearing Chase.

"Couldn't sleep, Chase?" Ryder asked as Chase sat down beside him before replying "Yeah."

Chase mentally debated whether to tell Ryder his nightmare but his stubborn thoughts got to him so he kept his mouth shut.

Ryder seemed the sense something is wrong. Well, Ryder had been taking care of the PAW Patrol since they were kids, he knew every single detail about Chase, Rocky, everyone.

"What's up, bud?" Ryder asked softly, curious.

"Nothing, I'm probably sick, I'll eat some medicines later." Chase replied, looking at the shooting stars.

Ryder clearly felt something is wrong but he didn't want to push further and decided to let Chase some space to think or clear whatever thought was on his mind.

They watched as the shooting stars glowed above them, it was fascinating, Ryder always stay up late just to watch them. Chase seems to like it too. It brought a strange sense of comfort to him.

Chase leaned on the railings, looking at the stars like a toddler although soon turning 20 two months later. The German Shepherd still has a childlike behavior despite his tough and disciplined persona.

His eyes got heavier, before eventually drifting into slumber.

Suddenly sunlight shoots to his eyes, he woke up and found himself back to his bunk with everyone else. It was nearly 8 AM. Had he really slept that long? Chase has always been the first to wake up.

He ignored that thought and got up, he saw the others were gone, some of their beds are still warm meaning they just left. Probably at the kitchen.

Chase went out and found the kitchen filled with laughter which eased the knot in his stomach a little.

Ryder was making pancakes in the kitchen wearing a hello kitty apron that Skye brought as a joke.

"Good morning, Chase!" Rubble called out as they turn their heads to him.

"Morning." Chase replied with a smile before taking a seat.
