"Bright and sunny" described the atmosphere of a typical morning in Equestria's alternate realm simply known as the human world, and the students enrolled at Canterlot High were getting for another year of learning. Inside the building, various students greet the Rainbooms as they enter.
Principal Celestia: *over P.A.* Welcome to another exciting school year at Canterlot High. As you settle into your new classes, please make sure everything's in order.
Micro Chips: Morning, Y/N!
Y/N: Morning, MC!
Flash Sentry: Hey, it's the Game Master!
Y/N: See ya in class, buddy!
Pinkie Pie: Hey, Bulk! How was jury duty?
Blueberry Cake: Morning, Y/N!

They then start settling in while reminiscing over their most recent adventures, traveling to different worlds and foiling a great evil from tearing them to shreds. Most recently, Y/N, Sunset, and the Mane 6 of Equestria went to Spooky Island, where they discovered Chrysalis had returned and stopped her from seizing power to control the globe for thousands of years.
Speaking of which, Chrysalis was a huge factor. Ever since the heroes returned from Spooky Island, Twilight Sparkle had been researching nonstop trying to locate the place where Grogar, Tirek, and Cozy Glow are hiding. She skimmed through every map available in Equestria, but thus far she's come up empty-hoofed. would be easy control to allow the heroes
Thankfully, not everything was entirely bad news. Between their travels and encounters with some new friends, she was able to conduct some work with Princess Celestia, to fully stabilize the vortex emanating from the projector. This way, the magic stemming within it would be easy control to allow the heroes transport rather than complete randomness. All they needed now was a reason to conduct an experiment to prove it works.
*Time Skip*
After the first set of classes, it was now lunchtime as the Rainbooms were having lunch together.
Applejack: I still can't believe this is our final year of high school. It feels like just yesterday we all got together and took down Sunset. Uhh, no offense, Sunset.
Sunset Shimmer: None taken AJ. It feels like just yesterday I came from Equestria. Now it's almost time for me to head back.
Shocked, Pinkie spits water in Rainbow Dash's face as Rainbow gives her a glare.
Pinkie Pie: SAY WHAT?!
Y/N: But why? I thought your home would be here.
Sunset Shimmer: It is, but... I've been feeling a little homesick lately. So I thought once I'm done with school, I can head back for a while to reconnect and fix some things I did in the past.
Fluttershy: Will you ever come back?
Sunset Shimmer: Of course! You girls are my friends, and I can never leave the best life I've ever had here! Especially you, Y/N. *blushes*
Y/N: *smiles* Oh, Sunset... It feels like just yesterday we confessed our feeling to each other. And the others followed suit. I know I've already said this a few times but... I'm really glad that I met all of you. I wouldn't be here today if not for you girls.
The Equestria Girls couldn't help but smile brightly in response.
Rainbow Dash: Well, since we're getting things off our chests, I think Fluttershy and I should probably tell you something...
