i had been friends with Soda for as long as i can remember. his friends always teased him about us, but he always told them off.
my eyes widened in shock at the question, I drop one of the candy boxes on the floor i quickly pick it back up and place it on the shelves with the others "yeah sure, what movie?" i ask. "Just one of those beach movies, there isn't anything good playing right now" he says turning around to go behind the counter. as a couple of soc guys went up to the counter.
1 hour later...
I had gotten into my best dress which was unusual for me considering i never wore dresses or anything of sorts. I looked in the mirror at myself. i thought i looked nice. I grabbed my bag and walked out. as I reached the drive in I met soda halfway. "Thanks for meeting me here Ivy" he said. I was practically an earthquake I was shaking so hard from the cold. Soda noticed and took off his jacket and put it around me. my whole brain had stopped for a second. the jacket felt like him in a weird way.
as we reached the drive in, I saw one of sodas friends and his little brother ponyboy. the boy next to ponyboy was wearing a jean jacket and he looked like a lost puppy. I believe his name is johnny cade. based off of what sodas told me before. "Hello boys" I say to them pulling the coat tighter around me. we walked inside and sat I down next to ponyboy and pony and johnny next to each other on sodas side. I couldn't focus on the movie I had already see movies like this a thousand times. but soda made it ten times harder when he just sat there looking so perfect. he looked over at me, the movie screen illuminating his features just right. and he put his arm around my chair. and whispered in my ear "ivy, will you be my girlfriend?" i nodded and he pecked me on the lips.
