JUST YOU AND I

Goodbye

"Ilham are you ready" my mum called out from outside.
"Almost" I screamed dragging my backpack carefully.
I peck my mum on her forehead before entering the car.
"Call me when you get to school" She said with tears in her eyes
"Sure" I assured her
This wasn't my first time leaving my mum alone but this one would take a long time before she sees me .
My dad stays in another state so we barely see eachother most times.
I bet she's gonna miss me.

The ride was silent as usual, and I am really not into boredom. I decided to listen to songs, then watch movie.
Then BOOM💥 we are at the school. My driver helped me with my bags to my dorm

I went back to the car with him, and hugged him cause I am missing how already
"Take care of her for me" I said to him
" Sure" He assured me
I stood at his front for a few minutes, just silence between us
" Ilham , I need to go" He finally broke the silence.
" Yes" I waved as he drove off.
I stood outside looking at the car that had drove off already.
I rushed back to my room to settle in.

I sat on my bed, telling her everything is fine here and she should take good care of herself.

I forgot to tell you this earlier guess because I was leaving home.
I got admitted into my dream University, The University of Lagos to study Anthropology. I really admire past things

I arranged my things as quick as possible cause I need to sleep so I can wake up very early tomorrow.
