We stood on the bridge, surrounded by the flashing lights; everyone else dead. Only we remained. We couldn't get caught like this. Not now, not ever. We looked at each other, hand in hand, having a silent conversation, before we turned and ran to the edge of the bridge.
"Don't do this!" An investigator called behind us. We didn't listen.
For a moment we were flying, wind against our faces, then we were swallowed by the cold of the water that now surrounded us.
