CHAPTER 1

THE OMEGA WHO LOVED THE RAIN

Rain always made Jun happy.

Not because he enjoyed storms.

Not because he liked gloomy weather.

Rain simply made the world feel quieter.

Softer.

Safer.

Whenever rain fell, the city seemed to slow down.

People lowered their voices.

Traffic became distant.

The entire world appeared wrapped in a gentle blanket of sound.

Jun loved that feeling.

Perhaps that was why he chose the table nearest the window whenever he visited his favorite café.

The owner had long since stopped asking where he wanted to sit.

The window table belonged to Jun.

Everyone knew it.

That afternoon, rain flowed down the glass in countless silver streams.

Beyond the window, people hurried along crowded sidewalks carrying umbrellas.

Inside the café, however, warmth surrounded him.

The scent of coffee filled the air.

Soft music played quietly.

And Jun sat alone with a collection of architectural drawings spread across the table.

At twenty-four years old, he was already the founder and owner of his own architecture firm.

A remarkable achievement for anyone.

Even more remarkable for an Omega.

The world often underestimated Omegas.

People assumed they were delicate.

Dependent.

Unsuitable for leadership.

Jun spent his entire life proving them wrong.

His firm had become one of the most respected young companies in the city.

Developers competed for his designs.

Investors sought his advice.

Employees adored him.

Yet despite his success, Jun remained astonishingly humble.

Perhaps because life had never allowed arrogance.

He had spent much of his childhood inside hospitals.

Thalassemia Major.

The diagnosis had followed him since birth.

Blood transfusions.

Medical appointments.

Needles.

Doctors.

Hospitals had become a second home.

As if that wasn't enough, asthma complicated everything further.

Some days breathing felt effortless.

Other days even climbing stairs became exhausting.

Growing up with chronic illness taught Jun an important lesson.
