Chapter 1: The One He Didn't Know He Was Looking For

Lorenzo Belladonna had everything.

At twenty-nine, he was the biggest solo artist in the world. Every tour sold out within minutes. Stadiums across continents lit up with his name. Awards filled entire rooms in his penthouse. Luxury brands fought over sponsorship deals. Fans screamed for him wherever he went.

Success followed him like a shadow.

Yet every morning, Lorenzo woke up with the same strange feeling.

Something was missing.

He could never explain it.

His manager called it burnout.

His friends said he needed a vacation.

The tabloids insisted he needed a girlfriend, boyfriend, or at least a scandal.

None of them were right.

Lorenzo simply felt... restless.

As if he were waiting for something he couldn't name.

Tonight was supposed to be another obligation.

A charity gala held in a historic palace in Vienna. Politicians, business magnates, aristocrats, and members of royal families from across Europe had gathered to raise funds for children's hospitals.

Lorenzo had been invited as the evening's headline performer.

He almost hadn't come.

Now he was glad he did.

The ballroom glittered beneath crystal chandeliers. Nobles and celebrities mingled while a string quartet played softly in the background.

Lorenzo smiled, shook hands, and posed for photographs.

The usual routine.

Then the doors opened.

The room changed.

At least, it did for him.

A small group entered together.

Two tall alpha princes walked first.

Confident.

Protective.

Lorenzo forgot how to breathe.

Beautiful wasn't the right word.

The omega wasn't trying to attract attention.

Yet everyone's attention found him anyway.

"Who is that?" Lorenzo asked without taking his eyes off him.

His manager followed his gaze.

"Oh."

A pause.

"That's Prince Alexei Mikhailovich Romanovsky."

The name sounded elegant.

Ancient.

Dangerous.

Lorenzo repeated it silently.
