When Cedric was younger, being blind made him see things a different way. He could smell others pheromones, and tell when they're lying, cheating or nervous, by their pulse.

You would think growing up not being able to see the way your mother looks at you when she's putting you to bed, would make you feel completely distant from the rest of the world. Sometimes Cedric had wondered, why his parents hadn't just left him at the hospital. He'd sit in his room for hours upon hours, contemplating what it would be like to be born into a different life.

Although at the age of 12, he had come to the realization that the rest of the world wasn't really living. They would sit at a computer all day staring into nothing, not experiencing anything. Becoming so engulfed in a world of technology, ignoring the beautiful world around them.

As he's gotten older, it's become easier to live with the real world. Acting as though, he were one of them.

But he was not.
