"Nice throw!" Heeseung grinned. He tucked the basketball at his side and jogged towards me for a dab.

"Thanks!" I smiled back and winked at him. That grin of his made me melt, if I'm honest.

PE was one of the best parts of the school. The score was 16-12, and our team was winning, but then—RINGGG

Nah, why does the bell have to ring? We wanted to play more!
I looked at Heeseung.
"Which subject's class is this?"

He crossed his arms, thinking. "Physics, maybe? WAIT—HAVE YOU COMPLETED THE HOMEWORK?!"

"Homework? What homewo—OH NO." I remembered that we were supposed to complete an assignment on the topic 'Projectile motion' or whatever it was.

"Don't say you have also not completed it!" Heeseung groaned, burying his face under his hands.

"I forgot about it! What do we do now?" I twisted the hem of my shirt, while biting my lower lip.

Suddenly, an excellent idea hit me, and the way his eyes lit up, I knew it struck Heeseung at the same time too.

"JAKE!" We both snapped our fingers together.

Sim Jake was halfway to the exit, basketball under his arm, when we cut him off.

"Jake, you are my best friend, aren't you...?" Heeseung said, rubbing the back of his neck with an awkward smile.

"Uhh... So?" Jake said, dribbling the basketball up and down.

"So... Can you help us with the Physics homework?" I said, looking at him innocently with my hands interlocked behind my back.

Jake sighed and rolled his eyes playfully. A smile tugged at his mouth. "Seriously? You two still haven't completed it?"

I dropped my arms. "If we had completed it, then why would we ask for your help, idiot?"

"Sorry, but I can't save you this time," Jake said, tossing the ball off the court. "We don't even have time to copy it down before class." He started walking out, then paused and glanced back with a wince.
"Also... you're five minutes late already. Good luck with Ms. Jang, you're gonna need it."

"What the—?!" Heeseung let out a high-pitched yelp and dragged me toward our classroom.

"May I ask why you are both late, Ms. Kim and Mr. Lee?"

We both stood in front of Ms. Jang, unsure of what to say.

"Well... Ms... Uhh... You see..."
I glanced over Heeseung.

"We were busy playing basketball—-"
"—we couldn't find the class—"
"—bell wasn't audible enough—"
"—we lost track of time—"
"—Jake came to talk to us—"
"—yes, yes Jake—"

"ENOUGH!" Ms. Jang yelled, stomping her foot on the ground. The whole classroom, including us, went silent. She slowly reached out her hand.
"Homework?"

"Right, about that—"
"We forgot," Heeseung said simply, sighing.
I shot him a sharp glare. I could've killed him right then. He didn't have to be that straightforward!

Ms. Jang crossed her arms. "This was clearly not expected from students as bright as you two. Go and stand outside!"

I snorted and without any further delay, grabbed Heeseung by his sleeve and dragged us out. Great. Now we'll have to stand outside for the rest of the class!
